Thanks guys but to be honest, I thought it was a subpar session as I missed the main lift. Today was subpar as well. In fact, only my deadlift feels good right now.

Sunday 11 March
Squats

Leg press warm up as the rack was momentarily taken - 120x10

60x5
80x3
100x2
115x1
127.5x1- Technique and depth looked fine in the video but my squat continues to feel heavy once 100kg or more is on my back. I'll try 130kg next week but I am severely frustrated. Could be eons before I hit 140kg let alone my end of year target of 165kg. Been training squat (incorrectly) for a long time and it feels as if so much time has been wasted.

122.5 - singles x 3 - Almost got pinned by #3 so stopped there

Dynamic Shrugs
60x5
100x5
120x3
125x3
130x3
135x3 - Will do better when my Versas arrive.

Chins
5,5,4,3,3 - 20 in 5 sets was the target. Add 5kg next week I guess.

try not to get frustrated and think of it like this:

it's only march and think of how much you've learned already this year! you have 4 times as much left in the year!! you'll get it, and then some.

Thanks Swede but I wasn't anywhere near a PR today lol!

I just to drink some Man the F Up juice and maybe a 2 litre bottle of cop on. It's just been a dire week all round is all. Here's hoping next week will bring better tidings.

It never gets easier. But with practice you learn to ignore it. I've been training with 400 squats for 4 years, and it always feels like I am going to get killed.

Keep charging hard.

You'll get used to the weight mate. It's all about smashing away at it until you feel damn confident taking it out the rack.

Well I was gonna say!

I was talking to Steve about just this the other day. God knows you're right, when it finally clicks or in my case when you're finally healthy again all you want to do is progress.

I might be accused of being too 'results focused' in training or on forums but it's only because I know, as you do now, that time is not to be wasted and we can accomplish so much if we put our minds to it, or accomplish so little if we don't. Life is too short for mistakes we know we shouldn't be making.

Do you know what one of the most common characteristics of winners is??

Persistence

And you def have persistence.

If the squats are feeling once you reach a certain point, then why not try some walk outs with 150kgs or thereabouts , I do this for a time when I feel a certain weight was heavy ,

Head up, Kuyt! Get some positive mental energy going for you. Squats are my nemesis too. We'll figure them out one day.

Hey I see your boys won the Carling Cup (IIRC) a couple weeks ago. That shouldda cheered you up.
