Shocked by how easy this was. I mean it wasn't flying up and plenty of effort was involved but I was never in the slightest trouble here.
How balanced are you feeling while pressing? I imagine your stabilizer strength is improving rapidly.

Thanks mate.
I have pressed 75kg from the shoulder rack position and clean and pressed 72.5kg before. Those records will fall. To be fair, it is a push press and not nearly as impressive as strict military.

My feet and body were nice and stable. As it was a push press, I needed to utilise a bit of lower body movement but my overall balance was good. And my balance is normally atrocious when I am walking. My wife is hardly very strong and she can knock me back with a slight push. I have the balance of a toddler!
Oddly enough, my balance sucked for the 5 x 5! I think my core is getting stronger underneath the flab

I think I have the balance of a toddler as well. 135 pound push presses are enough to injure me

it's nice to see when all your hard work pays off, and nothing says it like being able to rep a prior max. good work kuyt!

Week 2 Day 3
Hands nice and cut to ribbons again but I resisted the urge to use the gloves Used them for three warm up sets only.

Deadlifts
Bar warm up
70x8
90x5
105x3
120x1
137.5kg: Singles x 5
Some of these were grinders but the final rep showed me the importance of being 'up for it' every time. It flew off the ground and was little more difficult than the 120kg warm up single.

107.5kg: 5 x 5
Wrecked during these but oddly enough, the final set was by far the best. Nice, smooth and comfortable after 4 difficult sets.

Abs:
Rope pulldown:
Pin 18: 1 x 12
Pin 19: 1 x 12
Pin 20: 1 x 12
Must be doing these wrong because pin 20 is maxing it out and my core is never that strong.

Side bends 30kg: 2 x 12

Cardio: Treadmill
Incline 9% Speed 3.8 mph @ 20 minutes

Nice to own 300 pounds for singles. Looking long term, I would like a 500 deadlift, 400 squat, 300 bench and 220 clean and press by my 32nd birthday which is March 29 2014. Something to aim for step by step

One of those great "iron lessons". Every single can feel different to me. Usually takes me a couple to hit a groove or work out kinks.

I am hoping to see you hit a 400 deadlift next year. I really think you can hit it and then some.

good stuff Kuyt,

numbers are looking good.

try doing some hanging leg raises before the weighted rope pull downs and you should feel it on the abz then..
