Well, I am doing your favourite program, 5/3/1 but with more working sets as back offs.The main reason is that I am using the percentages as reference points as I drop weight. When I am done trimming, I will hopefully won't be too far off my previous bests, I just find it easier this way for now. However, I am doing far more overall volume than what is commonly used on 5/3/1 as you can probably see. If I am having a light week every 4 weeks, I will earn it with three very good hard weeks. I'm doing plenty of back off sets/triples/doubles to increase my overall volume. The 3 heavy 1 light works for me right now as well.

Carbs difference alone can impact bodyweight dramatically. Unless you eat the exact say thing day in and day out you'll see some of that.
Hang tough, it will come.

Cycle 2 Week 3 Session 1 Tues 30 October 2012 Bench 80x5 90x3 100(220) x 2 - Ugh. My PR @ 100kg is 5 reps but today, I barely got rep 2 up ![]() 85x5 85x5 Squat 102.5x5 102.5x5 102.5(226)x5 - Like last week, set 1 was turd while the other sets were better. Power Cleans 72.5x2 75x2 77.5x1 80x1 82.5x1 - Better than Sunday. Push Press - Bar cleaned from ground. 60x3 67.5x2 72.5x2 72.5x2 72.5(159) x 2 - Bit disappointed in this. Lat Pulldown Pin 10: 3 x 10 Side Bends 20kg plate: 2 x 20 Leg Raises 1 x 20, 1 x 16
