Squats Light:
65x5 80x5 95x5 95x5 Deadlifts 60x5 77.5x5 92.5x5 107.5x5 122.5x5 PR Tougher than I thought it would be as last week was so easy. Was very tired and fatigue was a bigger enemy than the weight itself. Push Press 40x5 50x5 60x5 67.5x4 Failed the 5th rep but this is further than I thought I'd get in a short time so not too displeased. Cleans 60x3 65x3 72.5x1 Had nothing left and didn't even raise the bar off the ground for the 2nd rep. Might switch this to day 3 next week. Shrugs: 42.5kg dumbbells: 3 x 8 PR BB Curls 42.5: 3 x 6 PR as I had never done more than 5 reps at this weight Abs: Side Bends: 25kg: 5 x 12 |

Went out last night for dinner and had some cocktails. Felt rough and back was still stiff from Thursday's deads. Felt like giving it a miss but I went in regardless, unsure as to what I would do weight wise. After 2 sets I felt strong as a horse. A new squat PR followed.
Today's Lesson: ALWAYS MAKE THE SESSION! We really have no idea what wil happen. Sometimes we will do a bad session but on other occasions, you'll really surprise yourself. Squats 65x5 80x5 95x5 110x5 felt smooth so tried 125x5PR My face looked like a strawberry but I got in 5 good hard reps. Incredibly pleased ![]() BB Bent Over Rows Pendlay's are not working for me. I just don't feel comfortable so I went back to the other version, weak boy rows as Steve calls them ![]() 40x5 50x5 60x5 65x5 75x5PR Bit of body English but not ridiculously so. Bench 50x5 62.5x5 75x5 85x5 Felt a wee bit rough by now so I called it at set 4. If it felt good, I would have tried a PR. Pull Ups 6, 4 ,4 Less than awesome Weighted push ups: 25kg: 9, 8, 8 Farmer's Walk: 30kg dumbbells: 20 slow steps x 3 Abs: Decline sit ups: +10KG: 4 x 12, 9 |

I have come down with a bad case of SSS (Shit Spotter Syndrome). I specifically told the guy not to touch the bar until I said so. I began the set and what does he do? KEEPS HIS HANDS ON THE BAR AND PULLS IT UP FOR ALL REPS!
![]() I just finished the set without knowing how much of the effort was mine. Anyway, I do feel as if my bench has stalled so on Saturday, I will try an 85kgx5x5 for some much needed volume. Indeed, I may use this approach whenever I fail on consecutive weeks as a means of fighting the good fight. The alternative is to cry about life not being fair. Squat 67.5x5 82.5x5 97.5x5 112.5x5 Left it at that for the day. Bench 50x5 62.5x5 75x5 85x5 97.5x5??? See above Cleans 55x3 65x3 72.5x3 PR Decided to move the cleans and it felt good today. BB Bent Over Rows 40x5 50x5 60x5 70x5 60x11 Form felt crap @70kg so I may enforce the 5x5 volume approach here to get strength while keeping the form somewhat decent. Weighted Chins +10kg: 3x3 Felt like trying something different Weighted Dips +25KG: 7,7,6 PR Nice ![]() Weighted Crunches: +27.5KG: 5 x 12 Bent over laterals: 8kg: 3 x 8 |
