Thanks mate.
Thanks Jen but once the main lifts are done, the rest is fairly easy. Thanks Steve, give it heck. Sunday 8 July This was unscheduled but I decided to work on squats today. Was a bit hungover so I was never going to do big things. Tooks ages mainly trying to find some sort of groove which remains elusive. I'll stick at it. Squat 40x5, 50x5, 65x5 80x4, 90x3, 105x2 110x1, 115x1, 100x2 Even 115kg felt heavy on my back. So I decided to do some.. Squat Lockouts 140x3 - Walked out and held for 10 seconds 150x1 - As above. Hard to imagine squatting 150kg because it felt so crushing on my back. I have never had that much on my back before. Various ab work and 10 x sprints of 1 flight of stairs Good way to sort out a hangover

Squatting with a hangover brought back memories of a back workout I did with a hangover. Didn't end well.

Tuesday 10 June There is nothing like minor victories to keep you going (expect major ones of course )Squat 60x5 75x5 85x5 100x5 115 (253) x 6 - PR! For the first time in eons, I didn't feel as if the bar was gonna crush me! Good fast warm ups and 100 felt very light on my back as did 115 which certainly helped. Knew I had it by rep 3 and had enough after 5 to go for a PR rep. Had 1-2 more left. Upper back still going forward (could see in replay) but otherwise, very happy. Bench 50x5 62.5x5 75x5 85x5 97.5 (215) x 5 - Equal PR Barely but good enough. Pendlay Row 42.5x5 52.5x5 62.5x5 72.5x5 82.5 (182) x 5 - Equal PR Close Grip Bench 60x5 70 (154) x 10, 8, 6 Triceps tried by now. Weighted Dips + 10kg 10, 6 Should have worked biceps as tris were done! Edit: Squat walkouts - 150kg x 3 held each time for 10 seconds. Felt so darned heavy I thought I was gonna strain my upper back! Thanks Mark for reminding me!

Delighted to see that rep PR buddy, persistence pays and you have jyst shown that....
I dont usually hand out advice (mainly because I consider myself a rookie) but I really think you should consider the walkouts for a while, I think it helped build confidence for you under the bar today. Once Smolov is through with me ill be doing them again |
