If you find you have ran to a halt, try using bands.

Great work Power Imp. You've been hitting deadlifts fairly close to max for a few weeks. Why not try hitting only 85-90% of what you usually hit for a single or two next week? (no need to overdo it). Essentially, this week's session minus 10%/. Gives you a slight break while still getting decent work in.

That mini break may be just what you need and go for 570-575 in 2 weeks.

You've got loads of time and we know you're not gonna get complacent. Just be patient

True, just trying to hold off the day the progression comes to a grinding halt. I have a few ideas going through my head right now but if you ever have any you think I might like just post it!

Interesting idea Rob, an idea to keep and look at after the meet.

Thanks kuyt thats actually a great idea, I'm going to try just that. 515-535 for max reps sounds like a nice break.

Also it's very hard to be patient sometimes!

6/5/12

Bench Press Pause
320x1 Very solid press, but a very hard press.
320x0 Shouldn't have gone for, knew I didn't have it.
295x2
295x2
295x1

Pull ups wide grip
25x3 Shoulder hurt pretty bad hanging so didn't want to hurt anything and called it there on any pulling.

Shrugs
595x1
595x1
595x1
595x1
595x1
595x1
595x1
595x1
485x20

Barbell Strict Curl
105x10 easy
110x10 medium
115x6 hard

Pushups
BWx37 Very easy

Walk
2 miles

Notes: Left shoulder was killing me whenever I tried to do any pulling, felt fine benching though.

Was very happy with 295x2 for paused benching, I also think I might actually hit one of my meet goals! (330x1 bench)

Nice work Mike. I actually meant that you should do 495-505 for a couple of singles. So essentially it will be your normal workout but 50-60 pounds lighter. Going max reps kinda defeats the idea of a mini-rest
Anyways, it's just an idea from a guy yet to deadlift 400!

you were almost there ... if you can do 320*1 then you can do 330*1. It is just matter of time ... superb lifting Mab ... there are not too many people who can do paused 320. Keep lifting ...

Strong all over! Two weeks is no big deal, your making great progress! Heck, I think it took me two years to go from a 500 to a 600 pull.
