Quest for 1900lb total at 198
Monday- 8-02-11 bodyweight- 198
chest day 135- 2x10 225- 2x10 315- 1x6 due to shoulder pain went to dumbell press. I take a flat bench put it on a 6inch block and do 10 reps incline stand up flip around and do 10 reps decline all in 1 set. S0 its a total of 20 reps. 80lb dumbbells- 4x20 ab work- cable ab pulldowns 50lbs- 4x20 also i do a twisting motion to hit the obliques. I also have a roman chair at home i use daily to strength my abs. I do ab work 5 days a week. Being that i have a 32" waist i dont have a power belly unfortunately so i have to train my abs alot so that my mid section can keep up with my squat and deadlift. I apologize for any spelling/grammar errors. |
Strong work MH. Impressive reps with 315, especially after those two 10 rep sets.

Great to see you here and logging. Hope the shoulder clears up soon. How tall are you?

I am 5'10" tall. I also see that you and Jonathan Byrd are friends on this site. He is my most loyal training partner and the one that designs my training cycles for meets etc. Anyway about 4 months ago i got a MRI and X ray on my shoulder and discovered I had bursitus, tenodnitis, a partial tear in my shoulder and bicep and a bone chip. That shoulder now doesnt hurt but the opposite one does lol. Thats powerlifting though. Ill just do dumbells for a few weeks and i will be back to at least 90%. Thanks for the support and sorry for the spelling/grammar errors.

I'm just comparing sizes as I am 5'9 and around 220 at the moment. A 32" waist is not something that I have though :)
Sucks about the shoulder but you're right, that's just the way it goes. If we didn't train everytime something hurt, we wouldn't train. J has been a big help for me on here so far. I'm a RAW lifter but will be looking to hit up some gear in a couple of years time. Really want to have a crack at a National and maybe a European championship first which will take some time. LtL |
Yeah I think that starting raw is the best way to go. It does take some time to learn the equipment and can change your grove alot in all the the lifts, but after you learn the gear then you will be good to go. I wish i could compete in a raw competition and hopefully i will soon but right now i just want to concentrate on learning gear. Good luck with your future goals.
