Not...enough...rows.

Now that's a bicep builder.

It certainly is. My wrists always seem to feel like they are in a bad position, which I think may be part of my issue on rows. Where do I need to be gripping the bar and any other tips on BB rows would be a big help.

Good question. Start with a position that is about elbows over wrists and make minor adjustments for comfort. Too far in or out from this position will angle the wrists a bit.

Main tip is don't baby the lift. We don't baby a barbell off our chest when benching, or baby a bar up from the hole when squatting, so row hard. This doesn't equate to bad form, but it does mean row with power.

Mentally think:

1) Pull the shoulders back.
2) Pull the elbows back.

This is all one fluid motion, which will result in an explosive row that helps bring more of the back into play - allowing for more weight to be used.

Thanks BtB. I'll be sure to focus on those cues next time I row(tomorrow). No more babying the row! I'll try to keep from too much body english, but I'll start putting some power into it. Is it important to keep a slow negative, or just controlled?

Great rows brute, and if it helps I like to put my middle finger on the second power rings when rowing.

On this lift I just let the weight ride down as quickly as possible. Any expanded time under tension merely places additional stress on the lower back.

Awesome. Thanks again for the help. One of these days I'll be rowing real weight!
