We may be the only two paleo/IF guys on the planet. We'll have to give this a name before someone else steals it and creates an e-book.

Not a bad idea. When I actually think back to what I did when I first really began to lose weight, and the 5 months over which I lost 85 pounds, I NEVER ate breakfast. Well, maybe once or twice a month, but usually I had a couple cups of coffee and a protein shake that was half whey and half casein. This was before I knew about flavored protein varieties... If only I had known then.

Paleolithic Caloric Normalization: Strategic Management of Deficit and Surplus Nutrient Intake

Long before the first fad diet appeared, long before plastic surgery was needed, our ancestors lived strong healthy lives, free of many of the diseases that plague us in our modern, over processed world. Far from living on the edge of starvation, recent archaeological finds have shown that our hunter/gatherer forefathers stood on average nearly 6 feet tall, with strong, healthy bones. This proves beyond doubt that they had adequate food intake, plenty of protein, and were capable of frequent strenuous physical exertion.

Did these ancient specimens of mankind subsist on Lean Cuisine and low fat salad dressings? NO! We find animal bones aplenty next to their encampments, and proof that they consumed large quantities of meat and fat on a regular basis. But these people also endured regular short term fasts as they hunted for prey. Rather than weakening them, it seems to have sharpened their skills and strength...

Book continues on for a few more paragraphs and then we get into selling our supplements that have the nutrients our ancestors could have supposedly gotten from whatever berry we make up.

Thanks Mike! Still no clue on the finger, but I had been checking my blood glucose a lot that day, so that may have weakened the vessels there.

I like it.

Interesting that my grandfather, a farmer, ate very much like this. Of course he had potatoes and some sweets, but his days were eating very little until the work day was done.

I think this style of eating was probably the norm for hunter/gatherers.

I really think that the 3+ meals a day is a pretty recent thing. My study on the classical Mediterranean culture showed that 2 meals a day were the norm.

Decent squatting day today, much better than last week, but not as good as I would have liked. As I got more tired, my form suffered, until I had to lighten the weight to get it back.

Squat
Bar x 5
95 x 5
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 3
275 x 3 doubles
275 x 3 singles
225 x 1
225 x 2
225 x 3

Bench
Bar x 10
95 x 5
135 x 5
185 x 3
200 x 5 triples

Pendlay Row
95 x 5
145 x 5
165 x 3
175 x 3
185 x 3 - PR though there was some hip involvement towards the end.

Thanks BtB. I wanted to keep the weight heavy, but I was falling forward too much and letting my knees fall in on the last 2 singles. Deadlifts tomorrow, looking forward to smashing 415 for a bunch of singles.

Thant's some mondo squatting! Interesting you got better on the 225s at the end. And 5 triples on bench. That's getting it done.

Ummm.... It's a little scary how easy you came up with a book plan and synopsis for your Paleo/IF berry scam.
