Thanks guys. Went slower on the way down this time around and kept the bar closer to my shins and the force was transferred more to my hamies/glutes and I had a bit more power in it, though reaching depth was a little tougher. This gym also allows chalk,so that was a bonus for my grip on the last set. RDLs seem to trash my grip way faster than regular deadlifts.

Did you lower them past the point where you lost the tightness in your lower back?

Lower back stayed tight, first couple reps didn't make it to the floor but after that I was able to touch the plates to the ground. Back never rounded, but pretty good strength in the hamstrings.

You have me beat by a mile. I get slightly below knees before my old body tells me to stop.

Thanks man. Being back in my old gym and shifting weights that I used to dream about moving is a great feeling. I have much bigger dreams now, but realizing that I have hit some goals makes me more confident that I can hit my new ones.

Not hungry for the first time since sunday. Its hard to get food when I travel, finally rolled into a local hamburger joint and got 4 double cheeseburgers lettuce wrapped. People were staring, but hell, it was worth it.

Bench day. All pissed off until after i had left the bench and realized I just smashed a record.

Bench
barxlots
95x10
135x5
175x5
215x2.5 - PR

DB Bench
60x10
70x5/3

T-bar row
2Platesx10
3 plates x 3
2.5 plates x5

db row
70x10

Was all thrown off by feeling like a was super weak today. Thought 215 was 195. Plates at this gym are a different size and I didnt read the weight on them. So go 2 and 1/2 reps at 215, so big PR for me. Happy, but irritated all at the same time.

Thanks BtB. Bench is by far the hardest lift for me to progress on, so I'm really stoked its finally moving up. Good programming, good diet, and good, knowledgeable friends have really helped get things moving.

BBQ with friends from my old apartment complex last night. 12 pounds of chicken leg quarters, who knows how much tri-tip and sausage, and a massive bowl of guacamole later, we were all pretty happy and protein high. Starting to feel recovered now and looking forward to deadlift day tomorrow.

That's my kind of feast.

Bench can be frustrating. Just keep after 30-40 pounds every year and you'll be well into the 300s.
