Trying to decide on my ideal weight class and lift totals. I know I want to get a 600 pound deadlift in the 242 class, but if I'm going to compete and really start to add muscle I should probably shoot for the 275ish range. I'm mostly interested in competing raw and drug free, so I'm not as familiar as I should be with achievable numbers. |

Quick session today. Shoulder held out pretty well on squats but opted out of extra work after the main sets as it was getting tender. Videos are being uploaded, but squats are looking better than before.

Elbow wasnt impressed with me today, full extension was incredibly painful, but bench day went well anyway.
Bench 45xlots 95x5 135x5 175x3 185x3 200x3 215xmiss - see notes Decline - 215x1 - too easy Pendlay Row 135x5x3 Cable Row 70x10x3 - felt way heavier than 70 pounds not convinced their labels are correct Notes - pretty pissed about bench today. The padding on the benches is non-existent and the surface is slicker than my non-stick pans. Tried to give a little leg drive on 215 and slide back 3 inches, which ruined my press. Think I have a good 15 extra pounds in me if I could dig my traps into something. |

Epic win for deadlift day.
Tried to warm up on a treadmill today, but was too pumped going into the gym to stay on it for more than 45 seconds. Really wanted to tear some weight off the ground. Deadlift 135xsome number 225x5 335x3 355x3 375x3 - Planned progression 225x8x5 Decline Crunch BWx10x3 Farmer's Carry 90# per hand x2 trips around the dumbbell area/1.5 trips KB snatches 40x5x5 Notes: 375 felt heavy, but not daunting. Really enjoyed today's session. BW crunches are difficult, but I can deadlift 415. Looks like I need more ab work Farmers walk is my new thing I think. Its all in the head. I failed on strength of will, not strength of body. I like it. There is no room in my gym for creativity. I ask about dragging 45# plates on the astro turf and they say No. How about chalk? Nope. A tire outside? No. Chains/bands? Negative. I need a real place to train, so I think I'm going to have to make one out of my place. Time to buckle down and make my own sled instead of just dreaming about it. |
