I see with the Brute press being assistance. I assumed it was a strongman type thing you were doing. How about this, every third week or so, do the Brute press first, then bench? Haha, no worries Mike, keep the ideas coming. It is a strongman thing, but until I can press 225 overhead for reps, specialized training is more just to have fun than anything else.

Gym story. Don't feel like going through the whole thing, so here are the highlights.

Owners talked to me today. I have the feeling they thought I would be intimidated. Please. I'm 6'4", 305 pounds, and they're under 5'10" and biceps warriors at best.

I maintained a polite and professional attitude while refusing to simply stop deadlifting. I pay my dues, I will train. I am more than happy to find a solution that fits everyone.

We discussed a few different options, including using another room they have but don't really use.

I suggested that I would be interested in buying plates off of them if they were going to get some new ones any time soon. They aren't getting new ones, but they offered to order plates for me with the gym discount. This may work out to my benefit yet.
