Oh really? I have the wrong build too. I am small boned and naturally weak. Nothing about my body is build for power.

Hard work wins the game. Never forget that.

I didn't even know there was a powerlifting "build"...I mean other than just getting bigger and stronger. I see tall guys, short guys, fat guys, and skinny guys.

The only thing I know for certain is that large boned lifters have a slight natural advantage on average compared to small boned lifters. Other than that there are few powerlifters who are perfectly built for all 3 lifts.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. My frame is bigger than most people, but a lot of that is just how tall I am. Joints aren't huge or anything so I can see where they were coming from, but nothing is going to stop me from a 700 pound deadlift. I may not be perfect for the lifts, but I've got the drive and the support of my brothers in iron, and thats better than any genetic advantage.

Squat Day. Class began today, so had to keep moving. BBB squats were brutal with the decreased rest, and exactly what the Dr. ordered.

Warmup
5 minutes on elliptical setting 8 @ 7 mph... not convinced their speed reader knows what its doing...
Jumping Jacks x10
BW squatx10
Squat
Barx10
95x5
135x5
185x2
225x3
240x3
255x2 - arg. Close, but nothing left for the 3rd rep. need about 1/2 an inch to an inch for below parallel.
135x10x5 - form was getting better as I got more tired. Go figure.

RDL
135x6
225x3
255x3
275x3
295x3

Slowed these way down on the descent, not quite hitting the floor, but more hamstring involvement. Good stuff.

Squats, my increment was 5 pounds too much. 250x3 would have happened, but that last rep wouldnt have happened unless I goodmorninged that thing entirely. Form is starting to come together. I feel like I have a lot of weight I could add if I could get some explosiveness out of the hole. Maybe time for box jumps or something?

Big day today. BBB squats are the best, aren't they? Very solid Romanians too. I'd say that session was a keeper for sure.

Speed squats or box squats might help too.

Great BBB work. That's like 50% of a German Volume session...too brutal for me.

I'll give those a try. Speed is the issue for me, once I break parallel its a grind to make it out of the hole regardless of the weight. Guess I'll start super light and work my way up the good old fashioned way
