Thanks Steve. Thats pretty much what I am thinking. If I can make it in one or two times a month for max effort upper/lower and work with people who can coach me and push me, I think it would be worth it.

S&M fitness is exactly what I've been looking for in a gym. Too bad its so far away. 3 squat racks, plenty of room to deadlift, competition benches, GHR, and not much else. Chalk is on a paper plate at the front desk. A number of the bars were bent, and the deadlifting platform had deep depressions where the plates hit, 1/2 inch plus. Pics of old time body builders, male and female lined the walls. Great place. At $4 a day for a day pass, I think I'll just do that for now.
Deadlift - lower than normal, and I felt it. Bar was curved too, made it a little tougher to hold onto. 135x6 225x5 315x5 340x5 360x5 230x8x5 Power Clean Barxlots 85x10 135x5 - wanted to keep going, but felt too beat up and didnt want an injury Hanging Leg Raise - more of a hanging knee raise. Being 6'5" make it hard to do anything with a pullup bar. BWx12/6 - no grip left Reverse Hyper? Body is flat on a mat, legs 90 degress in a sling, pull up with hams/glutes/lower back to make inline with body. 50x10 |

Two things are driving me today in addition to my usual need to get strong.
1. People at the gym I went to yesterday told me not to get my hopes up for power lifting because I have the wrong build. Pretty sure that in 3 years I'll be outlifting their strongest. 2. Friends little brother is well on his way to being a natty body builder. No way am I letting him get stronger than me. Better looking, sure, but not stronger. Time to put heavy iron over my head. |

Great session today, completely worn out. Back at Gold's Social Club, so no chalk, which hurt farmers walks, but other than that, things went well. Videos as soon as my phone get enough charge to load them.
Clean & Press - Clean first rep, then push press from there barx10 95x5 115x1 125x5 135x5 145x5 155x1 165x1 175x1 180x0 175x0 no speed left. 85x10x5 Pullup - wider grip, hands at about 45 degrees. BWx3x4 - PR These were from a full hang too. This is a first. Yeah, some kipping involved, but my best effort yet. Farmers Walk 110x80 feet 110x45 feet - hands were too slick. HS plate loaded shrugs 315x6 405x5 |
