Squat - 5x5x315 Push Press - 5x5x180 BB Row - 5x5x180 (+ DB Row - 1x25x60) *Snatch High Pulls 3x12x140, 2x12x115 -- DB Curls 3x10x35 All my sessions have been pushed back more days then they should have been and because I leave for vacation Saturday night, I want to squeeze in one last wave before the "deload." With monday's high intensity, I wasn't really feeling it today. On review of the lifts, all the lifts appear to be fairly smooth, but nevertheless it was one grinder of a day. High temps also drained energy quickly. That said, squats went OK. Got the work in although I didn't have much left in the tank by the time I started pressing. As such, leg drive in the push presses was lacking a bit which just meant a little more effort out of the upper body. Rows went swimmingly. Finished with a snatch grip high pulls and curls. Thought about DB inclines for a quick chest pump... but even that proved too exhausting. With this screwed up and compressed schedule I'm putting recovery on over drive (food, food, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, food, etc) and depending on how I feel tomorrow, may add in a lighter than usual recovery day to get blood flowing. Nothing on Friday and attempt the high intensity day I initially planned on Saturday. |

Great video. On the push presses I thought for a moment I was watching a young Hepburn.

7 - 21 - 11 --- "Recovery" Front Squat - 3x3x255 1.5 Squat - 2x5x185 Press - 3x5x155 Weighted Pull Ups - 4x8x15, 2x9x15 *Good Morning 3x10x155/2x10x135, Band Pull Aparts Pretty darn good day. Planned on going easy, but I felt to good to pass up the opportunity. Put 5 more pounds on the front squat and press than last weeks session. Front squats weren't as quick or deep as I would have liked, but were certainly good enough. The presses felt awesome considering yesterdays 5x5x180 on the push press; I suspected issues when the bar passed my forehead, but wasn't the case. I also messed around with 1.5 squat and added in a few pauses to lose that reflex/bounce at the bottom. Not sure if these will help OR hurt, but were kinda fun, so worth the effort. I did not for the life of me feeling like doing heavier pull ups but I also didn't want to just do body weight. Found a happy medium with 15 pounds in the weight vest. The sets was quick and a fun change of pace. The last two sets were 9 instead of 8 because I like the number 50 more than I do 48 (total pull ups performed). Finished with the good mornings supersetted with band pull aparts. One hell of a day, and hot too. Last edited by Pull14; 07-21-2011 at 06:04 PM. |

Those are amazing sessions!!! Brutal and effective.
I loved the black and white with the music haha. I really should start recording my sessions.

Nice. 3x3 front squats recovery. If the body's feeling it, why not.

1.5 squats look pretty crazy, I imagine they are difficult, can't hurt. Nice work!!

These weren't to bad actually, but I can see them becoming a real bitch after you pile on some additional reps/weight. Last edited by Pull14; 07-22-2011 at 02:45 PM. |
