Today was my last bench session. I usually try to take my opener to a 1 bd and cut it there, so I dont over do it. I worked my way up to 405, going 315 to a 3 bd and 405 to a 2 bd. I took 405 and misgrooved it TERRIBLY to the point where I dumped it on my belly so fast the spotters couldnt get it (needless to say my abs are sore and I have a bruise). I took about 5 minutes and did it again and nailed it! I need to get my mind right so I don't do something silly like that in the meet! Bodyweight was 163 today. Again, the record is 396 in the bench, so i'll get 3 attempts to break it LOL.

Yesterday was my last training session...I squatted with some reverse bands, just to feel the weight, speed, and have a slight deload into the meet heres how it went:
barx5 145x5 235x3 added briefs (I wear TIGHT 3 ply briefs and a loose suit, I found this works best to my strengths) 325x1 415x1 Added suit 510x1 straps down...(SMOKED IT! I will try to post a video as soon as my training partner emails it to me, I wont lie, it even surprised me LOL) 605 (around my opener probably) x1 straps up and wraps (EASY) DONE.....I now its just cutting the weight, putting it back on, and keeping the mindset of being a champion....PUMPED for the meet! I'll update sometime this week on weight loss. |

This is my 500 warm up (my math is wrong on the log i was acounting for a 60 lbs bar...our squat bar is 50) still....10 pounds is nothing lol....hows the speed? competing at 148 Last edited by MonsterMike; 05-08-2011 at 11:29 AM. |

quick update....basically this week is dedicated to weight loss, rest, recovery, and focus....have had several massages and adjustments done already....with no dietary changes, my bodyweight was 162 yesterday morning....I am water loading a lot this week, especially today....hopefully it all goes well!
