I hope you are feeling better mate!! My hands are also always sore, its a pain.

With regards to shoes I have the 2011 Rogue Do Wins, I really love them, they are built well. But I dont have anything to compare to them apart from running shoes or a flat soled pair.

Your health is definitely more importnat than lifting without straps Jim, take care of yourself buddy, get that BP in check, you will be fine.

Im also thinking of getting a pair of lifting shoes, so thanks for bringing it up and getting all the great advice for me

These are the most popular shoes. They all have their pros and cons so do a little research on each. If your looking to keep the price down, VS is the cheapest, seems to be fairly popular and apparently have a new shoe thats on sale (I can't speak for quality but it is inexpensive).

Sorry to hear about the medical issues. Always puts a damper on things. But it sounds like your not really letting that stuff get in the way of the important things. All that counts.
Thanks for all the links Pull - I'll definitely check them all out. I'll get this weight issue and BP sorted very soon. In the meantime SFW will continue

Haha - my pleasure buddy. The BP is on a downward trend, but I think to get it to normal I will have to get down to 195-200 lbs, which really is what I wanted to get to anyway. Once I reach that, I'm going to have to keep it within +- 5 lbs or so. No more crazy bulks for me.

MOB POWERBUILDING CYCLE 2 DAY 12

Bench Press
210 X5 + 5lbs
210 X5 See Vid
210 X5
210 X4
Rep goal is 6, so will stay at this weight next bench day and then get my 6 reps

Incline Bench
175 X8
175 X8
175 X7
Dang it, close to 8 reps. That 7th rep was a super-grinder tho - likely the slowest rep in the history of benching lol

Dips
+45 X8 +1 Rep
+45 X8
+45 X8
Met rep goal of 8 on all sets, so weight will progress next bench day.

Cardio
35 Mins
4.0 Miles
Steady State

In between bench sets and at work today, I worked on my squatting with no weights. I remember reading once that one should practice doing the lift wrong with no weight, and then practice doing it right with no weight. This worked a charm. I know know what's going on. When I bend at the knees first, and with a too narrow stance, my knees track inwards and my shins are at a horrible angle. When I widen my stance and break at the hips first, my knees track perfectly over my feet naturally - I do not even have to think about it. I also practiced what Carl said, ie - not thinking about my depth. I am sure he was right as well, I was overthinking and worrying about my depth too much, all the while forgetting about the other important elements of squatting. I say this because I naturally break at the hips on GM and RDl's, and I used to break at the hips in the "old days" (last year haha). Why I stopped doing it on squats and not even realizing it is beyond me.

I am going to thanks you guys by repping 405 in 2012, with great form. Al said I am capable of it, and he is always right. You guys are pure genius for spotting these faults and giving me the exact medicine I needed. Thanks brothers in iron.

Great workout!!!! And good job making the necessary form adjustments!!!!
Your bench is really continuing to progress. And your dips, bodyweight + 45lbs for 8 is really good.
