Ok Al - I'll play it by ear. Even tho I do not like deadlifting light, I'll do it if it doesn't irritate the back. I have been stopping at the first sign of trouble though. IE - on the vid above, it didn't hurt until the last rep when I was lowering it. Thus, I have to remember to stop deadlifting way before I'm ready to. Maybe lifting light will help - we'll see.

That is why this injury has been so tough to work around. The back tricks me into thinking everything is OK by not hurting until the last rep or so. When it does start hurting, I do stop.

Decided to try these before squat day on Wednesday (No worries, I won't be doing back squats) They are kind of like a reverse deadlift - no wonder I liked the lift Amazingly, they made my low back feel BETTER This is why I did so many of them. I reckon the logic here would be if a regular deadlift makes my back hurt, than a reverse deadlift would do the reverse - make my back feel better. LOL
