Oh yes, but I actually would enjoy more of a powerbuilding style. I really liked JB's original program I was on as I was doing more rep work for the first few weeks, and then lower reps in the later weeks. He really stressed to get that blood flowing. We will see how this plays out exactly. Even during the heavy weeks, I was still doing "bloodwork" for accessory lifts.

Hopefully, once I resume the MedX Back Bitch sessions, my lower back will get caught up strengthwise and I will be good to powerlift again.

I was kinda more curious with regards to the eye issue than the back; with the raised pressure in the head/eyes through squats and deads (bench to a degree, I assume), it can't help with the eye and blood vessels etc...at least you do have the options which is good.

You raise a good point with the eye issue Babs. They do know I am a powerlifter, but may not remember what kind of weights I am moving exactly. I will remind them on my next session to make sure I am OK to go. If not, indeed, I will have to be satisfied with lower weight and more reps likely for the rest of my life. I will never sacrifice or risk my vision just for the sake of lifting.

Yeah, even docs sometimes just think "yep, no problem" without realising exactly what may or may not be occurring, and to them a heavy weight may not even register as affecting blood pressure, a heart specialist, on the other hand would have alarm bells ringing at the mere mention of a moderate load.

This may be helpful as well, it's not much and there's probably much better info out there but it might prove useful for points of reference and such:

Weightlifting Increases Pressure Within The Eye

might be slightly better:

http://archopht.jamanetwork.com/arti...ticleid=815228

These studies (haven't fully read them) may not be using the sorts of weights you're using either, so, in theory, they may be causing less increases than you will experience; just a thought.

Oops - sorry Rand, indeed I did overlook your post. I sure appreciate you stopping by. Good to see your back posting as well. It appears as though I will be doing alot more BB reppage these days.

Lower back has recovered from all that volume on Wednesday, so I was good to go do some work today. I am now modeling my freelance sessions after JB's program. Just trying to get just enough work so I feel satisfied that I accomplished something without putting my eye recovery at risk. Done

Interesting rack pulls, I thought your feet was on the wall then realized they were on the lat tower bars. Lol
My feet woukd be on them but need to put the bar on opposite side of rack.

Gives me ideas though

I actually used to rest them on the knee brace/pads used for lat pulldowns, but I removed that piece a long time ago in order to give me room to set up/create an arch for benching. Haha - ya I am only 5'10" and that's on a good day.

Haha, indeed Rich! Pull Ups would be to strenuous at this point. Did the trick tho, as my lats have DOMS today.
