Thanks Dave!

For the cut, I am on IF. No change in diet except because of the IF, breaky is out. Quantities remain the same for lunch and dinner. For lunch, because I am Celiac, I containerize dinner leftovers. I have a snack in between lunch and dinner.

The cardio is more for getting my c/v system in shape (conditioning)

In 2011, I was quite good at cardio, but stopped doing it in 2012 out of fear it would interfere with my preparations for my first 2 meets.

I am now doing cardio about 3 times per week for 25 minutes intervals or 40 mins LISS

It all sounds so simple

Cardio is definitely something I'm lacking, and will be working on after Nationals. We don't need to be out of shape just because we're powerlifters!

Indeed. I am tired of being a fat powerlifter, and for that matter, so is Mrs Squatter. Gotta keep her happy if I wanna continue to get more new toys and go to meets, etc. Haha

I am just at the point where I don't see the extra weight doing me any good really. I have seen many lifters at meets and here for that matter who are leaner yet stronger. No reason why I cannot not do the same.

Thanks Rob! Next meet will be in the Spring , likely late April or early May. It will be a local meet here in town that are Crew will be organizing.

I have also been invited to participate in the CPU (Canadian Powerlifting Union). The qualifier for the Provincials will also be in the Spring. Once I qualify, I will then lift in the Provincials in the Summer, and if I qualify, will be able to lift in the Nationals in the Spring of 2014.

Hopefully I will be able to enter Powerlifting. If not, I will do bench only raw.

PUSH/PULL SESSION

Tried to deadlift tonight and it was a no-go right from the start. 135 was welded to the floor. No harm done as it was not going anywhere. I had no expectations, but this turned me into a grumpy old Bear anyway.

Plan going forward is to do super light RDL's ,GM's, and other back strengthening exercises and progress like a snail. I will likely try to pull again in a couple of weeks at the Crew Gym where they have large 5 & 10 lb plates.

Man, nothing makes you appreciate your most recent PR more than having to start all over again with the bar only.

Great lifting Jimbo! Good luck with the cut - I'm sure you'll finish leaner and stronger than ever
