Jim your toes are pointed quite a bit outward, and your knees line is inside your toe line. You also get halfway down and they start to move in, compounding this.

I have noticed a trend in your squats over the years for the knees to move in halfway down. I would either try to bring that toe angle in a bit, or consciously try to flower those knees just a hair more.

You'll get it.

Super Jim...that's all, you're a super hero in my book brother. My prayers are with you and don't worry the day you stop perfecting your form is the day you will no longer be a lifter!

something else we might need to look into is going to a lower bar squat.

Al - indeed I see it. That vid was from Jan 10th. This vid was from Jan 6th:

Later that day, the joint popped and I had to go get treated. 4 days later, I did those squats in the vid. My joint obviously wasn't healed. I agree tho, the problem of leaning may have caused the facet joint nissue a long time ago. It is oikely becoming a viscious circle now.

Here is a recent vid from last Thursday:

Thanks everyone for making me feel better, once again!

I got fixed up this morning from David, my physiotherapist. He was pretty upset - not at me, at the injury. 2 Facet joints were out. Ugh. At any rate, he is going to call in a few favors and get me treated with an injection lickety split, as opposed to me waiting until April to see Dr Babbins - the sports medicine doc. He is also going to get the xray I had taken a few weeks ago and take a look. He said either my disc is compressing due to the arthritis and/or the tissue surrounding the joints is too soft and stretchy, thus allowing the joint to pop.

I have no idea if poor form last year caused this. I don't see poor form causing arthritis. I hope to find out. I thought my form of late has been good.

I really long for a day like I had in Vegas. There were no problems and no pain and I nailed form.

If my lower back is healthy my form is always pretty good, at least I think it is and nobody here has said anything in the last few months. The Crew has also not pointed out any glaring errors.

JB - I am all ears for any plan you may have. I used to do low bar, but Steve suggested I try high bar to help correct forward lean, so I did and it seemed to work. perhaps going back to low bar might work? If so, I'll certainly do it.

OK Steve - I will definitely bring in the toe angle and work harder to spread those knees. That sure has been an ongoing issue as the weight get heavier. I know I can do it tho.

Alot of good suggestions on form. I know JB has your plan now but consider combining squat/deadlift to one session a week in the future. It will greatly help with recovery for your lowerback.
