So, I looked up the results from the Powerlifting on Thursday Nov 8th:

http://help.unation.com/unationdemo/...s/Thursday.htm

I placed 4th out of 4 in my class. The other 3 lifters are listed right above me on the spreadsheet. The Russian lifter squatted 638 lbs!! No wonder I felt intimidated LOL. I compared my numbers to only the American lifter in 3rd place, and I sure have alot of work to do if I ever hope to have similar numbers.

Brett Hill:
Squat: 451 lbs
Bench: 275 lbs
Dead: 528 lbs

Me:
Squat: 403 (-48)
Bench: 253 (-22)
Deadlift: 463 (-65)

On the bright side tho, I did technically placed 4th in my class in the world as far as the WPC is concerned anyway.

This meet was not drug tested, thus I have no idea who was juicing and who wasn't, and I'm certainly not acusing anyone of doing so. However, I feel I am capable of reaching numbers similar to Brett's and maybe even more. Even if I hit all my planned lifts, I still would have placed 4th. With that said, I did reach my goal going in of a 4PPS decent depth squat and a big deadlift PR. Bench kinda let me down once again, despite the hard training. I am certainly going to work my butt off to get my numbers up as long as my facet joint co-operates.

Never have done bench with a belt on before. Jury is still out on how much of a difference it made.

Facet joint is OK. It has been stable since November 2nd. This is a great sign. The trick now is to go lighter on Sunday when I train squats with the crew or do deads or some variation of deads.

Take a few weeks and fun Jimbo. You've earned it.

Those squats are looking deeper and deeper each week. Impressed.

Crazy strong. he only weighs 100 pounds less than I do.

I compete in meets like that too. Kind of pushes you in a way.

Thanks Steve! I will just lift what I feel like and have fun for a couple of weeks. J Byrd has offered to make a routine for me as well. I am of course very grateful and honored to accept his offer and looking forward to doing it. Westside is also a possibility either now or later. Al directed me to his thread about his training history:

The evolution of my training

That 403 squat has really given me the confidence I can bury anything I lift. I never wanna be called on depth again. It was a tough pill top swallow at the meet.

With the help, support, and inspiration I get here and with the crew - I will own those numbers in 2013. Your right, Vegas has pushed me to do it, but clean of course!!

I will Elite!! This meet has really energized me as I think there is alot more in me. I can really see how Vince, the 67 y/o veteran I met, was at his 118th meet. Its addicting for many reasons.

I sure appreciate the kind words as well. It's really neat that I inspire others. Knowing that sure helps to keep me going.
