More heavy tricep work after the meet and you'll have 315 in no time.

Beastly squatting and great PR on bench too. Paused 275 really is great.

Wow - I was actually just thinking about that Al. I have been doing dips, but only BW. I reckon I should add in some CGBP as well as doing weighted dips.

Thanks Kuyt!! It is amazing how much heavier just 10 lbs felt. I thought the 265 was relatively easy and I didn't think 275 would feel that heavy based on that. It was nice to be bale to grind it out tho.

Pressing against chains, bands and off high boards are better lockout builders IMO.

CREW DEADLIFT SESSION

Despite all the misses, I am really happy with what transpired today. I managed to complete my opener and planned 2nd lift today, despite feeling thrashed going in. Those squats on Thursday and bench yesterday really whacked me. This was actually an ideal test for me as I imagine I will not be feeling fresh as a daisy after going for broke on squats and bench at the upcoming meet, I was also happy to get 475 off the floor. This means that with a few form adjustments, 475 will be owned shortly. This is very exciting as that is only 20 lbs away from a lifetime goal of 5PPS. The bar rolled forward on me on the 450 lift, yet I still pulled it. I made sure that didn't happen on the 475. However, on that lift, I was too far forward over the bar. Brian was watching all my pulls today and made that observation. They all thought I had the 475 at first. I just ran out of power to get some speed happening. Brian told me that the bar actually flexes some and that once I feel that flex to turn on the jets to full throttle and pull with all my might. It's nice to know that it will be mine with just a form tweak or two. I actually practiced that form point of sitting back more on my Pendlay's.

The bottom line is that I have to fail in order to succeed.

Deadlifts
Squat warm up
Bar X5
95 X5
115 X5
135 X5

Deadlifts
135 X3
225 X2
315 X1
365 X1
405 X1
435 X1
450 X1
475 X0
470 X0
465 X0
405 X0
I know that when 405 is welded to the floor, I am completely done. I did however feel like I had some energy left for some assistance work.

Pendlay Rows
135 X5
185 X5
205 X5
225 X3
225 X3
225 X3

Hack Squats
1 PPS X5
2 PPS X5
2 PPS X5
2 PPS X5
2 PPS X5

GHR
BW X4
BW X5
BW X5
BW X5

Plan for this week is to noload/deload. I might do some light becnh & squats on Wednesday. Next weekend with the Crew, I will be doing triples up to my openers on Bench and Squats. No more maxing.

425 will definitely be my opener at the meet. 450 will likely be my 2nd lift and who knows the 3rd.

High Boards & Chains I can do Al. Consider it a done deal for after the meet. I think you are 100% right that my lockout needs some work now, since I seemed to have nailed down the arch and tightness for at least a single.

Thanks again Big Al. I was really happy that I got my first 2 lifts in despite not fresh.

475 won't be long. On a good day you'll hit 460-465 easy. Get it next time Jim.

Thanks Steve! 450 in Vegas would be a meet PR, as the most I did in Vernon was 440. 465 in Vegas is a real possibility tho for my 3rd lift. 465 would definitely be so sweet in a meet.

Got a tad emotional about this in my car after the session. Not only am I 100% confident about the meet, I can really see 3 PPS Bench in 2013 for me. It's now a realistic goal instead of a dream.
great benching Jim ... 275 is yours ...
