Indeed Mike - I gotta get it 100% healthy before the meet. If it isn't 100% soon, I will go to physio to get it sorted once an dfor all. No time to waste until Nov 7th!!

CREW BENCH SESSION

Darn those form freaks!!! Don't they know I have a hungry ego to feed!!! (Haha)

Seriously tho, this turned into one of the greatest days ever for my bench. On the sets with happy faces, I was told by the best bencher on the crew that I had near perfect form. Words cannot express how happy I was about it. I know the weight was relatively light, but to nail decent form now means everything. I have to have the solid foundation in order to progress to a big bench. It's tough to undo years of built up bad habits, but I am getting it done, all the while just packing on the confidence.

One form point they taught me today was to raise my head when lowering it, and pushing head down when pressing it, all the while watching the bar. I used to stare at the ceiling while pushing with all my might.

Bench Press
Bar XLots
95 X8
115 X6
135 X6
155 X6
155 X6
155 X3
155 X3
185 X3
185 X3

Military Press
95 X5
115 X3
115 X4
115 X5
115 X5
115 X6
This was very interesting. As soon as I got my groove on set 3, my form was awesome which allowed me to crank out extra reps.

Did not do any pulling today as I want to be as fresh as possible for deadlifts tomorrow. I am going to go for 415-425 for a triple, provided my lower back tweak co-operates.

You work your butt off. Your form is better than mine on benching. We need you to teach us a few things or two.

Well done Jimbo.

Thanks Swede!! I am soooooooo fortunate to have met them last July. It's a good think I am not shy to talk to people. I met them at the weigh in, which is a good place and time as nobody is stressing out yet.

For once I am speechless Steve. I am gonna work even harder to make sure my form holds up as the weight goes up, as Al mentioned earlier. My form on the first rep has been consistently good tho, which bods well for the meet. On the 2 sets with smileys tho, I was able to keep my form tight throughout. I also cannot wait to do some paused benching now to see where I stand for the upcoming meet.

CREW DEADLIFT SESSION

I originally wanted to to some triples today, but decided it was too risky to do rep work, as my tweak is still there. For some reason, it only bothered me on the odd ramp up rep and remained tight until the 405. After that single, it felt pretty good. No worries tho, I ended up having a grand day!!

Squat Warm Up
Bar XLots
95 X5
115 X5
135 X5

Deadlifts
135 X3
185 X3
245 X2
315 X1
365 X1
405 X1
425 X1
445 X1 RAW PR!!
425 X1
405 X1
385 X1
365 X1
Ya, I know, I am not supposed to drop it. I will have more focus at the meet. I was just so darn excited. I have been fighting for deadlift progression since I did my 440 at the meet. Too bad Laura stopped the recording as it was an epic happy dance right in front of everyone.

On the back-off singles, they wanted me to practice just stepping up to the bar, then just grab the bar and rip it off the floor without even thinking. They even had me sniff some liquid to clear my mind and give me some adrenalin rush. So, that's what I did - I just stepped up and ripped them off the floor like nobody's business.

I have to admit that I am at the point now that if they told me to jump off a bridge I might to it. I have 100% complete trust and faith in their coaching. It's just amazing how they are all helping me out to become the powerlifter I and they feel I am capable of being.

Leg Press
3 PPS X5
5 PPS X5
6 PPS X5
7 PPS X5
8 PPS X5
9 PPS X5
10 PPS X5
These are all PR's in the sense that my ROM is vastly improved over what it was back in the old gym days when I first started here about 2 years ago, even on the 900 lb set. I think I once had 11PPS loaded for a triple back then, but like I said, ROM was not that great. I would even consider that lift back then an ego-lift.

GHR's
BW X1 Calf Cramped.
BW X3
BW X6 PR!!

I never gave up on it.
