07/12/12 - WHEN IN DOUBT.........SQUAT!!!
I have a meet hangover. It's sort of like WTF do I do now? Anything seems so anti-climactic. So, I just thought I'd do some triples. Doubles are good at the bar, and triples are good in the gym. Lower back was a bit too tight, and I leaned too much on the first 365 single, so I did another as punishment. Second one was better. This was my last session until next Tuesday when I will be lifting in Texas!! Squats 155 X5 185 X3 215 X3 245 X3 275 X3 295 X3 315 X3 340 X1 365 X1 365 X1 Bench Press 135 X5 155 X3 175 X3 195 X3 210 X3 225 X3 237.5 X1 250 X1 Chins BW X3 BW X3 BW X3 Dips BW X8 +25 X8 +25 X8

Strive Fitness
I stopped by the gym where the Independent Powerlifting Team trains. This is about as hardcore as it gets. No fancy schmancy here. No TV's, no juice bar, and no cardio theater. Just tons of iron & steel. The 4 Heavy duty GHR Benches also caught my eye. It costs 504.00 per year to join Strive, and there is an additional fee to be a member of the team. I was just in awe that I have an opportunity to be a part of all this. It will be one I will most definitely not pass up.

Man you are having a lot of fun right now. Makes me want to be on vacation sooner and longer. I dont get home til 8 August. And then only for 20 days. Nice lifting after the meet Jim! Sorry I havent stopped in more. Work has been crazy busy!
Definitely an awesome opportunity to be able to lift in an atmosphere you described. Smash them weights. Hope you have some fun sessions with Joe and Rich! |
