SQUAT/BENCH/DEADLIFT SESSION - WEEK 10 DAY 2 OF 2
I am a bit speechless as I am not sure what just happened here. Still in a bit of shock. Everything felt heavy today, perhaps because of walking around for 8 hours yesterday at the Mustang Meet. However, the 395 single did not feel too heavy, so I knew I had a shot at the triple @ 405. After that miracle I had nothing left. The 415 felt like a ton, bench went nowhere fast, and deadlifts went OK, but not great. 425 on Sumo's is my PR, but that was when I was alot fresher. Form started to breakdown on the squat triple, but I was mostly really pleased I nailed the first rep. Sometimes I have an issue of feeling out the first rep and thus not making depth. This session was just simply a gut it out. Meet is only 2 weeks away. ![]() Squats 155 X3 195 X3 225 X2 265 X1 295 X1 325 X1 345 X1 365 X1 385 X1 395 X1 405 X3 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 415 X1 Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think this day would come. All I can say is repping this kind of weight is a whole new ballgame compared to a single. Bench Press 165 X3 185 X2 205 X1 225 X1 245 X1 257.5 X1 I knew I was done after this last single. No sense in doing more. No worries tho, sttill got some work done. ![]() Deadlift 235 X1 265 X1 315 X1 365 X1 395 X1 420 X1 432.5 Fail Welded To Floor 425 X1 ![]() Sumo Deadlifts Just decided last minute that I had a little bit more left in me, so I did some Sumo's, which I haven't done in a long time. 315 X1 Raw, but felt to weird o/u, so I dusted off the Versagripps and went to town. 335 X1 365 X1 385 X1 405 X1 ![]()

On tap for Wednesday:
Squat - 5X5 with 380 as money set. Depth on all reps will be the main focus Incline Bench: 5X5 with 215 as money set. Focus will be to just lift the iron up ![]() Power Cleans - 5 singles, with a PR matching money single of 190 In the meantime, I am thinking about my opening lifts for the meet. At the moment, I am thinking 385. The issue is I do not know how strict the judges will be on depth, so I have to bury the opener, which in theory will make the judges a little more forgiving on the 2nd and 3rd lifts. If i can nail all 5 reps of the money set to decent depth tomorrow night, then 385-390 at the meet will be "guaranteed" at the meet for me. I will be doing a mock meet on Saturday, ramping up to the opener I plan on using at the meet, for each lift. as of now, I am thinking 385 squat, 250 bench, and 425 deadlift. If I nail all 3 lifts, then I will be set for the meet for my openers. After my opening lifts, all hell will break loose and absolutely nothing will be left on the platform. A big shout out to Big Al for his insightful advice regarding my meet preparation. I am so very, very fortunate to have him in my corner. It is impossible for me to have any more respect for a person. Thank you my friend and mentor.
