MOB POWERBUILDING CYCLE 5 DAY 5 DELOAD

I had a very bizarre squat session this AM. 95 lbs felt heavy during my warm-up. I could not squat 135 with a wide stance, making the first set of 135 a train wreck. I narrowed my stance for the 2nd set and was able to squat 135 ATG for 8 reps, but it was tough. I checked my knees and they were tracking properly over my feet. Not sure what happened here as the Zercher Squats were a piece of cake and the RDL's were like a feather, yet i had a very hard time back squatting 135. My low back has been a bit achy of late, but that doesn't explain the easy Zerchers and RDL's

Are you kidding me!!! Man, this really made my day - it was hard but I got even more in me - it won't be long before I get this down to 20 mins

I also had a Doctor appt today WRT blood pressure, and I am afraid it's bad news as I have to go on blood pressure meds I have had a few good readings of late, but not enough. My highest was 165/101 and lowest was 133/81 Most of the readings over the past month were about 147/88. I made every effort to avoid the meds, but it wasn't meant to be. I will not give up tho. There is always the chance of getting off of them. On the bright side, my Doc had to take a double take at the BP Monitor when it displayed a resting HR of 44 I am so very proud of my CV fitness.

WEIGH-IN

Weight: 211.6 lbs
Waist: 37.75 ( a loose 37.75 - almost 37.5 )

Weight is down 2.6 lbs and waist is down 1/4 inch. I am on the MOAR Diet. I actually ate moar food this week than I ever have on this cut. It all began with Thanksgiving last Sunday, and yet I lost 2.6 lbs. The only thing I did different was to activate my secret weapon. It is currently undergoing testing on myself and Mrs Squatter. I will reveal what it is after a couple of more weeks. I can tell you it is not a fat burner or an alien abduction..

Awesome fitness of course! But don't count on getting off the heart meds anytime in your lifetime. I never had high BP, but I tested high on cholesterol ONE time and my doctor had me on Lipitor straightaway. He said I could come off if I got my cholesterol down, but even tho I did get it way down and have kept it down for the past two years, he still won't take me off it (there's a history of heart trouble in my family, my dad died of it and my dad's heart doctor is my general doctor so he knows my family tree first hand!).

It is what it is. I was 44 and was a fat wheezing heart attack waiting to happen with not a medication in sight. Now I'm almost 47 and fit as a fiddle and I'm on lipitor for life apparently.

Whatever.

Wrt your squats, most of my sets feel horrible until I'm properly warmed up which takes around 15-20minutes. This could why everything after the squats felt great as you were ready by then.

Now get back to some real weights.

Can you not just stop taking it Mike? I mean, the Doc cannot force you to take it, or can he? My Doc said if my BP goes down to 120/80 I can start reducing dosage. We will see what happens.

Yes, you are likely right. I usually warm up with 95 lbs for my first set. I will take better care to warm up more next time.

Real weights will begin once my deload is over and you OK my form.

Great session, especially for a deload. It is amazing how I am getting through these sessions without a pre-wo supp. I have been having a protein shake and banana along with Chlorella, Spirulina, Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, and Maca Root. I just may have invented a new pre-wo!

I also have some bad news. My mom fell in her own house on Sunday and was admitted to the hospital on her 79th birthday. She had breast cancer surgery late last week. She stayed at my brothers' house for a few days after-wards and then wanted to go home. She fell later that day on her way to the bathroom. She has one of those lifeline things to wear around her neck, but she wasn't wearing it at the time. Its a good thing we went to check on her, as we found her lying on the floor in really bad shape lying in a pool of urine and called an ambulance right away. I went to visit her at the hospital last night, and TBH she didn't look very good.
