Jim the hang clean is too light. You shrug and pull the bar up and it comes to head height, you really want ti to be heavy enough so you can just get it to top of the shoulders at most and then drop under the bar to catch it on the shoulders...

Pile the weight on big man, you are good for another 40lbs I think without too much trouble

Carl.

Great idea Carl!! Haha - I love the way you think - add more weight

Does it matter if I lose some explosiveness when i had the weight?

MOB POWERBUILDING CYCLE 3 DAY 5

I think I did my Back Squats correctly this time

Squat
265 X8 +10 lbs
265 X8 See Vid
265 X8
265 X8

OH Squat
75 X8 PR + 10 lbs
75 X8 See Vid
75 X8
75 X8
I am starting to find my balance or groove with these

RDL's
325 X8
335 X10 PR + 20 lbs See Vid
335 X9

Thoroughly enjoyed this session. I feel revived, full of energy, and strong. Even on just 4 hours sleep last night, I couldn't wait to jump out of bed and go squat. No cardio today as I was completely knackered after the RDL's.

You wont lose explosiveness, the bar may slow a little, but honestly you will be able to pull harder, at the minute if you exploded that bar up as hard and fast as you can you would throw it through the roof.... add another 40lbs and full force may only get it to shoulder height and thats the sweet spot you want to hit, where you can only get it to shoulder height, then body speed takes you under.

You are holding back at the minute mate, im sure of it.

Ill watch the vids from your last stunning session later

Carl.

Those squats look WAAAAAAY better. Much more comfortable and you looked stronger too. I could see you pushing knees out and it looked like you were sitting back more as well. I actually thought you had about another 20 rep's in you on that set. Great to see. Now get some real weight on the bar again ASAP

You are smashing some serious weights Jim and fixing form issues along the way. The cut is gonna be EPIC!

OK - Gotcha!! Now I can't wait to do Hang Cleans again. Once I got them down pat, I can then do power cleans. Yep, I don't wanna hold back anything. Thanks so much Carl for helping me with these Oly Lifts. I am having so much fun with them as I am learning them the right way this time.

No problemo Jimbob. Just remeber Bar goes straight up and the body moves around it to catch it. not the other way round

Carl.
