Warm-up Incline dumbell press 16kgs for 2 sets of 20 Face pulls 30kgs for 2 sets of 15 Light stretching Main Lift Bench Press Bar for 3 sets getting used to new bench 60kgs for 3 sets of 3 teaching my handler for next weekend how to hand off 80kgs x 3 100kgs x 1 120kgs x 1 Awful rep. Didn't stay tight at the bottom. Sunk the bar. 120kgs x 1 Stayed tight. Did it properly. Easy rep. Add slingshot 140kgs x 1 Easy rep but elbow a little tender at the bottom again. Left it there. Assistance All done to promote recovery through blood flow Lat pulldowns with wide grip 60kgs for 3 sets of 10 Tricep pushdowns with light band 3 sets of 25 Hammer curls 12.5kgs for 3 sets done until boredom set in Not a bad session today. Trained at a different gym to work with Mrs Al's Stepdad who will be handling me next week. We worked on getting me into my bench shirt and setting it at home before the session and he should be golden. He used to be a truck driver so has great grip strength. He also didn't baulk when I told him to make me some man cleavage so we're looking good. Elbows, particularly my left one as always, are tender after straight bar squats on Thursday. Only really hurt at the bottom of the bench press and the rest this week should have them feeling brand new. If not Naprosyn does a great job of sorting it out so I will have plenty on hand for a week today. I am pretty much done now. In the past I have taken a complete rest week before a meet but I didn't like it. I always get what I call phantom aches the week before where random parts of my body hurt for no reason. I think a little session to loosen up midweek should help this so will probably head in on Wednesday. I feel ready. All arrangements have been made. I start a slight wafter load tomorrow before really upping my intake from Wednesday. I will also be cutting back on carbs gradually throughout the week peaking with no carbs on Saturday. This should see me cruise into the meet at around 92-93 and hopefully bloat back up to my usual 95-96kgs after weigh-ins. Game time.
