DYNAMIC EFFORT SQUAT/DL

High row
25kgs per side for 3 sets of lots

Superset with GHR
BW for 3 sets of 10

Speed squats against 50kgs of chains
No box
Bar for a few sets getting the chains set at the right height
70kgs for 2 sets of 2
Add suit straps down and belt
110kgs for 2 sets of 2
Working sets
140kgs for 8 sets of 2

Speed pulls against doubled light bands
60kgs x 3
100kgs x 3
Working sets
130kgs for 5 singles with straps down
130kgs for 5 singles with straps up

Janda sit-ups
100 total reps in 3 sets

Good session today. Getting closer to the meet so I wanted the squats to be heavy and challenging which they were. First time squatting against chains and it's much less stable than bands. Makes setting up hard as well as the squat. Pulls felt snappy and light as they should and although I'm a little beat-up, I'm feeling good. 4 weeks out.

Solid work.

The 4 sessions I used ghetto chains I liked that instability feel. Think it's something you will use more frequently?

Definitely. I like the different feel and it's easier on my shoulders than heavy bands.

UPDATE

Feeling sore and beaten up. Sleep is still sub-par and Mini Al is in our bed for at least part of most nights which is not good for my back and I have been struggling to shake this cold for a couple of weeks. To combat this I have made a few changes:

1. No extra sessions. No point at the moment as I'm not well enough and this close to the meet with the heavier work, I can use the extra recovery time.
2. Lots more stretching and PVC rolling, probably 2 or even 3 times per day.
3. Sacking up. Something always hurts. I'm old; I'll deal with it

Overall everything is going well. I'm feeling strong, lean and confident. I have also now got the gym meet lined up for the 16th December which is 3 weeks break after the equipped meet. The gym one will be raw (knee wraps) and should be fun. We have a bit of sponsorship this year and Hazzard is in so we have a good bit of competition. At a lighter bodyweight, I should do better as it's all done on Wilks. All depends on how my raw lifts have done since changing to gear whoring everything

Dan said we're doing weight lifted over bodyweight so if we're doing that rather than Wilks then I'm out, no way it'll be a fair fight. I worked out he has to squat 202.5kg on Wilks to match me. Hah.
