Thanks guys. Really pleased with how things went last night. Technique is getting better and I'm ready for a big weight next week.

Rest day today with a little assistance to catch up on and then max bench tomorrow.

Forearms are tight
100kgs x 2
120kgs x 1
Forearms are really tight
130kgs x 1
140kgs x 1 grinder but went up
Forearms are sore but only need one more lift
147.5kgs x 0
It was not to be today. Forearms and, as a result, biceps were very sore and slowed down my eccentrics to a crawl. I was pausing forever on the floor and although I muscled up 140, I had nothing left for the winning press.

Rested for 10minutes for forearms to stop throbbing. Did some light assistance.

Super mini band flies
3 sets of 20

Reverse pec deck
25kgs for 3 sets of 10

Fat Gripz pushdowns
10plates for 2 sets of 50

FIN

Disappointed with today but with all of the recent heavy shirted pressing, extra triceps work and the straight bar squats on Monday, I should have known that my arms would need a break. Ah well we live and learn. I have dynamic effort squat/DL tomorrow but my plan is to not squat to rest my arms and then for dynamic bench on Sunday I will do some light dumbell work for reps. By next week's max bench I should be recovered and ready to rock.

It's not anything to be disappointed about. A true Max Effort in the Simmons's sense of the term should include a good amount of struggle and preferably going 'till you fail. You still get the training effect and that's the important thing,

Good effort.

Question about your board work, I've seen a couple videos where you lower it very ballistically and I've read Tate's articles where he says that's an option. Is that what you'd recommend?
