It's amazing to see what a whole new ball game lifting shirted is. I am so very happy for you Big Al - the touch PR of 400 lbs is astoundingly a big accomplishment.

DYNAMIC EFFORT SQUAT/DL
Speed squats Strength speed wave week 1 of 2 14" box, suit bottoms, supermini, light and average bands Average bands Bar for 3 sets All three bands Bar for 2 sets 60kgs for 2 sets of 2 Work sets 100kgs for 3 sets of 2 120kgs for 2 sets of 2 Speed pulls Sumo stance 60kgs for 2 sets of 5 100kgs for 2 sets of 3 140kgs for 8 singles with 40seconds rest Row on incline bench with cambered bar 60kgs x 10 80kgs x 10 80kgs x 8 Spread eagle sit-ups BW x 10 +10kgs x 10 +15kgs x 10 +20kgs x 10 Decided I'd do a strength speed wave on this day. Strength speed is higher band tension and lower bar weight. It's definitely a different feel and that much band tension is punishing hence the lower volume. Next week will be 5 sets again with slightly higher weights and then working up for a few singles. Band tension was hard on my upper body after benching though. Speed pulls felt very good today. Movement was snappy and the bar moved fast. The rows were strict and tough but got them done. Finished with a new ab exercise which was good. Feels similar to a janda sit up it takes the hip flexors out. Today was hard work. A combination of yesterday's benching And general tiredness. Got what I needed done though and now I have two days off to recover. Good times. As I left the gym Hazzard was pulling my deadlift max for what looked like a speed rep One step closer. LtL |
