Summary of today's session:
I still can't touch in my bench shirt. My forearms hurt. Hazzard is a legend for helping with only minimal complaining. The shirt bruised me up pretty nicely. Shirted benching is hard. Full write-up and video with my own comedy commentary to follow later tonight. First have to take Mini LtL to the docs to check if she has hand, foot and mouth LtL |

Nothing easy about equipped lifting. Its a whole new ball game. Keep it at, your strong raw....eventally that means strong in gear!

@Faz - She's fine. Just a bit spotty and grumpy.
I'm benching in the shirt once every three sessions and squatting in gear one in four. This way I get plenty of raw work in and don't get too beat up. MAX EFFORT BENCH PRESS Band assisted stretching Bench press Bar x lots for 3 sets 60kgs for 2 sets of 5 80kgs x 3 100kgs x 3 115kgs x 2 125kgs x 1 Add slingshot 140kgs x 3 Add shirt, pulled down but no belt 160kgs x 2 got down to about a 2 board 170kgs x 1 not much lower, maybe 1.5board 180kgs x 1 no touch, 1 board, maybe slightly lower 185kgs x 0 took ages hovering at the bottom trying to touch, couldn't and then lost it on the way back up Shirt slightly higher, still no belt 180kgs x 1 slightly lower than one board 187.5kgs x 1 around same height and soft lockout as I threw it back into the rack Wet shirt and still leaving collar high 180kgs x 1 about the closest I got but still at least an inch to go More water, more weight, shirt high 187.5kgs x 0 forearms were blown up at this point and had spotters take it halfway down as, I quote myself, I was too weak ![]() FIN Whole session took around 2 hours and although my aim was to touch and I failed, I still feel like I learnt a huge amount. I learnt more about how to set the shirt, I learnt about pulling the bar down and pressing fast which makes it a lot easier to get the bar through the sticking point. I learnt that I need to wet the shirt earlier in the session and most importantly I learnt that to get the most out of this shirt, I just need to be flat out stronger. This shirt will give me a 200kgs press BUT I need stronger stabilising muscles and stronger triceps to make the most out of it. Massive thanks to Hazzard for setting my shirt and not complaining too much about it. He even encouraged me inbetween constantly taking the pi$$ ![]() Video is uploading now but it's quite long so it'll take a while.
