Finally TheRock has come back to
So, I am linking my journal over here, my basics are 5'10.5 220 405(bit of a sandbag I'm good for more)/345(ditto no passable form on video of higher lifts)/545. I don't count lifts unless and until I get them on video and approved by people whose opinions I value. I have a youtube page but when I tried to embed and/or link I can't do it yet, but my username is dustintaps on youtube and it has a bunch of videos. Here's yesterdays session:
Today I deadlifted. If I knew how to deadlift I might be dangerous. I don't so I'm a little better than mediocre. Here's today Deadrifts 135x5 225x3 315x2 405x1, belt on chalked up got to work 455x2, disturbingly heavy 505x3, 10 lbs. PR, video: 525x2, 10 lbs. PR, considered doing a 3rd to tie Jordan but he's all strong and shtuff and had some in the tank so I gived up and left some in the tank although not sure a rep I feel I coulda doubled another 5=10 lbs., 2nd rep felt grindy but moved okay I guess, vid: Romanians 315x5 365x5 Need to up the weight and/or the reps on Romanians because this wasn't very hard. Notes roar??????????? Took @ 45 mins. benching in 40ish hours not too challenging as written but would like to feel decently fresh for it |

Good news/bad news day. Bench style
Pause Bench 135x5 225x5 275x3 315x4, only paused last rep 335x3@9, all paused ass stayed down but form sucked and was double pumpish after the first rep which was fine. Not happy with my lack of tightness, foot position is better where I got it, the racks down in Tally where I worked out are real far back which makes it difficult to unrack and I didn't have a lift, so that didn't help. It's a PR but I'm not very happy with it. Chest Supported Rows 5x5 started at 1 plate ended at 5 plates High to low Cable Cross Overs on a Free Motion Machine 40x15 70x12 100x10 V Bar pushdown 70x20 Done. 45 mins. I hope to duplicate the 335x3 pause next week with better form. No taping today because I left my charger in GA and need a phone for the ride home. Guess you guys will just have to take my word for the ugliness. I know it's a stretch. |
So, wasn't sure how this was going to go squatted after a 4 hour car ride, some beef jerky, a peanut butter and honey sandwich, and a protein shake, but I think that let my caffeine kick in better than usual.
Squats 135x5 225x5, belted up and (tried to) do work 315x4, felt light and like it moved fast, video: 365x5@8 and a low 8 at that, I think if money had been on the line I might coulda done 10, it's easier to squat when your form is better (who knew?), this is a PR I think, video: Strict Press 135x3 165x3 185x2 and a miss @2/3 of the way up, I probably coulda locked this if I wanted but historically fighting sticking points on Press is no bueno for my shoulders so I let it go Front Squats 135x3 185x3 225x3 (PR), I probably need to figure out how to properly set up my "rack" position because these hurt my bicep (old tear) Good Mornings 135x5 225x5 And done. 50 mins. First Squat workout I've been happy about in months. 385x4 next week. |
