The break sucks Carl but think how smoked your buddy feels and you know it is much needed and think if you didn't get it how quick we'd burn out and you know what that leads to.

You're right of course... i should just enjoy the break and build myself up for my next session. Im adding SLDL after squats, supersetting DB Rows with Pull-up and changing to DB's for bench, plus adding weight to a lot of moves, so its a big day next session. Cant wait

Carl.

Thats a big leap Carl. I can't wait to see how you respond to it. Thats why i like being a week behind you as I can learn from what you are doing.

Cheers guys. i supersetted pull-up with the BB rows this week too, but I am only doin g the extra bits on the first session to see how my body responds to them. Eventually i will work up to adding pull ups into the last session too (with the deadlifts). The i suppose from there in to the full intermediate, but thats a fair few weeks/months away yet. Depending on GL's instruction

Carl.

I know I'm still a long way away from the intermediate workout. I'm considering my self a beginner again at lifting.

Just to give you guys an idea of a timeline.

It will take about 3 months to fully adapt into a fullbody scheme. You'll be doing good work before that point, but you will still be adapting to the workload. Especially as you start to catch your breath, and start lifting some heavier workset weights.

Things will seem to be going kinda slow, and then you'll see, and feel like you have turned the corner. That is when you will really feel a big differance in your abilty to work a session. You'll feel like you can go balls out at that point.

You have to temper just how hard to work, and think long term and not get your CNS recovery on the backside of the power curve. You can easily overwork yourself from a CNS standpoint. Once you've done this a little while, you'll be able to judge very well when you have pushed too hard the previous week.

Those days off are going to become a welcome aspect.

Great post GL.

Hopefully I am taking it steady enough at the minute, I will trust your judgement I think adding the SLDL and pull-ups just on a Monday is a good idea as it adds a bit of variety to the weeks work, plus ensures that Im not overdoing it by adding it all in on every day yet...

You havent done me wrong yet mate, so Im just gonna continue doing as im told

Carl.

You remember how you felt on that first weeks 3rd session, and then the day after. If you were to do the whole intermediate right now, you would be buried by your 3rd session.

After your next session, we'll just work the basic program, and get you up to full speed. Then we'll seriously start moving into the intermediate. This will be fun.
