The break sucks Carl but think how smoked your buddy feels and you know it is much needed and think if you didn't get it how quick we'd burn out and you know what that leads to.

I know I'm still a long way away from the intermediate workout. I'm considering my self a beginner again at lifting.

Just to give you guys an idea of a timeline.
It will take about 3 months to fully adapt into a fullbody scheme. You'll be doing good work before that point, but you will still be adapting to the workload. Especially as you start to catch your breath, and start lifting some heavier workset weights. Things will seem to be going kinda slow, and then you'll see, and feel like you have turned the corner. That is when you will really feel a big differance in your abilty to work a session. You'll feel like you can go balls out at that point. You have to temper just how hard to work, and think long term and not get your CNS recovery on the backside of the power curve. You can easily overwork yourself from a CNS standpoint. Once you've done this a little while, you'll be able to judge very well when you have pushed too hard the previous week. Those days off are going to become a welcome aspect. ![]()
