Yes I believe if the shot was harmful the FDA would ban it. Its not just my faith in the FDA that gives me this opinion. I know countless amounts of people who use it and I have never heard anything bad about it. My point is, if its really as bad as you say it is, you would certainly not be the person I'd find out from

Default flu shot or not?

geez didn't think I would raise a debate but ok, I happen to be a medical researcher (not practitionner, can't stand sick people .

one scientific study published last year surveyed 1,205 cases of seasonal influenza amongst military personnel stationed in the U.S. Results show that the vaccine (either TIV or LAIV type) was only marginally effective in preventing mild symptoms, but was markedly effective in preventing severe symptoms.

so here's the verdict: if you could be getting real badly sick (e.g., you are immuno-compromised, e.g., HIV-positive, over the age of 65, etc.) then probably best to take it to avoid potentially severe symptoms. The rest of us (like me), we usually bounce back within a few days.

here's the study in question:
Seasonal influenza vaccine and protection against ... [PLoS One. 2010] - PubMed result

you can find many more studies if you search the pubmed database, but, as always, read with a critical eye as definitive answers are rare.

I had influenza once. It's no joke. And it's not the stomach flu like so many people think.

Like JP said, if you are in a group that is susceptible to severe symptoms, tale one.

I personally would rather have the shot then to get influenza. It had me down for the count for a month.

Sorry to derail your training log JP.

Starting a short cycle of Tribulus. According to recent scientific work, it may lead to improvements if taking at least 1,500 mg a day for 10 days. No benefits after that. My first time trying it, will see what happens.

thanks bro. I'll let you know about my Tribulus experience. looks like a side-effect is a reduction in creatinine, so I'll be sure to follow that with a new creatine cycle.
