![]() At least you worked something around out of necessity instead of just ditching the exercise all together. Yeah, securing to the bench so that the weightload doesn't pull you could be a problem; I know with lat-pulldowns (??) you sometimes see knees hooked under rollers or someone holding the person etc, but since you'll need shoulder movement to be totally free that would only leave abdomen/chest areas for possible securing points, since anything lower than that will still allow the upper body to be pulled forward. A plate on the chest?? maybe not a good idea...a thread may get people's minds working on it; there's always an answer somewhere, normally where you least expect to find it at that. |

I just realised that since I have 2 of each of the following KBs: 8kg, 12kg, 16kg, I can use combos and make up 2 x 20kg and 2 x 24kg and with the 20kg that permits a 28kg, 32kg and a 36kg weight load...not that I think I'll be needing those loads any time soon.
But if I use the popcorn technique it certainly will permit 2 x 20kg clean and jerk at a later date, if required; and I just gave the grip a shot with the lower weights and 2 KBs in one hand and it works very well. Gotta get my new workout together in the next day or so.

It's going to be a hybrid workout; otherwise I'd miss my deadlifts and zerchers, and then I'd have to start frothing at the mouth
I'll be ditching some exercises such as the triceps-blaster and barbell finger rolls; the forearms will get all the work they need from the KBs and the triceps-blaster was a floor exercise which worked fantastically but I'd rather just remove it from the routine.

I have to admit, they are an interesting addition; brilliant if you wanna throw some weight/volume-wise around in a short amount of time; great for the cardio aspect, 4 minutes with a heavier KB and you're all-in, frazzed quite literally gasping.
On another forum, I decided to do the 100 rep challenge that had been set, so I decided on 100 x 20kg KB swings (mostly because I couldn't access my barbell at the time) even though I'd only had the thing a day or so and had not swung it up to that point in time...boy was that fun, plenty of cardio there and never moved from the spot.
