Thanks, storm. It stinks, because I really wanted to start smashing squats and deads. Oh well. I've learned these past couple of weeks that things happen for a reason.

I had a chiro appt this morning. He manipulated me for several minutes, and in the end was satisfied with what he accomplished jointwise. The soft tissue is still quite tender. I'm going to give it the weekend and some ice. See how we're feeling Sunday or Monday.

Default The Rehab

The Rehab

Tuesday, 10/25/11

I had been feeling pretty good over the past weekend and couple of days leading up to that. I decided to test the waters a bit with an empty bar.

Superset
Squat
45x5x5
Bench Jumps
5x5

Today, my lower back is quite tender and stiff. Part of me is quite afraid. I've been thinking too about my recent interest in stretching. Could I have put my back in a compromising position? Another factor too is this lousy chair I have at my computer and the hours I've spent sitting here looking for work.

The rehab protocol calls for more lifting today. I don't know. We'll have to see. If I can get things loosened up, then maybe. If not, I might have to reconsider the whole danged deal.

Stretching can cause issues, in fact sometimes, depending on the stretches, a person can feel like they've just done too many deadlifts (I've experienced that) because it's still muscle and joints being put under "pressure" just of a slightly different nature.

When sitting for longer periods, I now use a Togu (half bosu designed for chairs) which keeps the spine mobile.

Hey Val, out of curiosity have you watched any of these cancer documentaries:

"The Gerson Miracle"
"Burzynski, the Movie"

...Just wondering if you have seen them and if so what you thought...

No, I haven't. Honestly, my experience has left me emotionally drained. I tend to avoid these types of things. I just don't want to deal with it. Long term denial I guess. I do find it easy to be supportive of people who are going through it. Or people who are dealing with loved ones. I imagined myself being a high profile advocate, but I find myself avoiding events and book signings, and such.

I hate cancer. I hate what it did to me. I hate what it stole from me. I hate the fact that since my surgery, I've lost an aunt and a childhood hero. And its now trying to steal a friend from me. I hate that too. I also hate watching news reports or reading articles about my type of cancer and finding out there are less intrusive procedures. That really makes me mad.

Sorry for the rant, but it still is a sore spot for me.

Would you recommend those documentaries? Have you seen them? What was the subject matter? Maybe I'll search them out.

Just got done researching Stanislaw Burzynski. More evidence that Big Brother has his head up his bum. I'll need to watch the documentary. From the review I read, it seems pretty one sided, but I think his treatment has the potential to alter the way we deal with this, and other diseases. There seems to me to be a glimmer of hope for Mankind. It also seems to me that certain entities don't want Mankind to have a glimmer of hope.

That's exactly what's going on.

Sorry the rehab is not going as well as you had hoped.

No need to apologize for the "rant".

I thought both documentaries are worth watching. Gerson was poisoned twice when he tried to advocate his cancer treatment approach.

My take hope from the Gerson documentary was just how effective an organic, natural style diet seemed to be in the treatment of cancer. I need to research more. The Burzynshi documentary was one sided, but his solution to fighting cancer seemed intelligent enough to warrant further research.

The last thing I want to do is send you down a rabbit trail. But the Gerson therapy, and the focus on diet, caught me eye.
