My little goalie starts the first Friday in June and goes every week until mid August, then there's a camp that runs one week in June, July, and August. The real season starts in October. If this goalie thing works out, she may get to be on a traveling team next season. Two years ago this was the furthest thing from my mind.

Sunday, 5/15/11
Squat 45x5 95x5 145x5 165x5 185x5 210x5 240x5 BP 45x5 85x5 100x5 115x5 130x5 150x5 - I played conservatively and reset my top set back 20 pounds. Even then it almost killed me. I don't know what's up. Didn't get chins in today. I let someonelse ruin my total gym experience. My bad. Kroc Rows Left 40x10 80 9/3/2/1 Right 40x10 80 9/4/2/1

Thanks man. Travail never felt so good. Had a minor success on BP early last week, but bombed out last Thursday. I just reset to get another run. I am now officially training the lift.

One of the final remnants of my childhood died today.
A few months ago I made a rather emotional journal entry when it was made known that Minnesota Twins great, Harmon Killebrew, had esophageal cancer. I talked then about my feelings about cancer. About how it took my boyhood hero's cancer to help me come to grips with my own. I can not overstate how devastated I was at that time, and again this past weekend when it was announced that Harmon had given up his battle and had entered hospice care. Harmon left us this morning. My prayer list is shorter. My burden is now lighter. My childhood is all but vanished.

Here's my training from Wednesday. I got home from the gym and was so tired that I showered and went right to bed. Didn't bother posting. That seems to be my MO lately. For the record though, I didn't sleep worth a hoot. I was hot and uncomfortable. Tossed and turned all night. Kept my wife awake too. That was my second lost night this week.
Wednesday, 5/18/11 Squat 45x5 145x5 165x5 185x5x2 OHP 55x5 65x5 75x5 85x5 95x5 Deadlift 135x5 230x5 260x5 295x5 335x5 I had some wicked bicep pumps all day on Thursday. Don't know why. Deads are just that good I guess. Friday looks to be a very short day at the plant. I'll try to sneak one in in the early afternoon, then relax very hard for the rest of the day. Gonna get up early Saturday to make Rapture preparations. Then smash more weights on Sunday.
