I thought I would be able to just go lighter, and work my way back up, but that is not the case. My Front delts do not like any sort of pressing movement right now. I did a light squat workout on Monday, and that has me very sore even today. I'm thinking I need to approach my whole program right now strictly from a weight loss standpoint, and let things heal. Everytime I think I can lift, I try it, only to have things aggravated. This is probably the route I'm going to take. This is not where I wanted to be right now, but I have to face reality or I may end up in a even worse situation. |

You have to do what you have to do. It's just more proof that you have to be careful when you're younger not to kill yourself. I always feel like I'm one bad day away from disaster myself.
Anyway, we all want to see you succeed so do it up however you have to.

I've been looking at hard at what is going on with my sholdes. Everything points to tendonitis.
Rest, anti inflamitory's, light stretching, and then very gradual resistence training is what is called for. I'll still squat some, as thats not so much tendonitis. I'll still go easier with it, but I won't do much more than some lower body work for awhile. This crap never used to happen when I was younger. |

The sound of high pressure air is heard as GL blows the cobwebs off this log.
Ever so slowly my body is healing. I'm ready to try some very light work on Monday. I'm still sore, and some aches and pains all over, but I simply have to work out. Doing some yardwork this week didn't manifest any major aches and pains. I'll still do full squats, but I'm going to go very light, and basically treat myself like a beginner for a few weeks. As Jslep points out in the previous post, I'm not younger anymore, but I'm not dead yet. |
