Anello Deadlift Cycle
Week 9


Deadlift: 1 set of 1 with 555 (98.58% of 1RM)

^ Easy. I could've doubled it. 585 is most likely going to be the weight that I attempt in two weeks, when I test my 1RM.

Rack Pull: 1 fail with 600 below knees

^ I tore my left palm during this failed lift, but unsure if I would've got the lift whether that happened or not. I wasn't far from finishing it, regardless.

Reverse Hyperextension: 3 sets of 12 with 220

^ I finished the session without doing rows because my hand was bleeding.

Pause Bench Press: 1 (almost 2) sets of 1 with 260 (pause PR)

^ The first one went up without much difficulty, but I failed the 2nd single near the top. I think that I took too long between sets. I checked the video and there was 14 minutes between the two, because I was helping a friend with his deadlift technique.

Behind-The-Neck Push Press: 5 sets of 3 with 185 (BTN PR)

^ These felt good overall. Probably doubles with 195, next bench session.

L-Seat Pull-Up: 1 set of 6 with BW+20lbs of chains, then 1 set of 4 with BW+40lbs of chains

Dip: 3 sets of 7 with BW+60lbs of chains

Deadlift: 5 sets of 1 with 502 (89.1% of 1RM), 60 seconds (or slightly less) rest between singles

^ This was no problem. The bar speed was fast. I'm ready for 585 on Saturday, the 19th. The plan is to pull it in the gym, then do the same number at the meet on December 10th.

Shrug: 2 sets of 12 with 545

Reverse Hyperextension: 2 sets of 13 with 220

One-Arm Dumbbell Row: 1 set (each arm) of 14 with 165

Grip


Gripper: 2 partial singles with each hand, using my new Captains of Crush 2.5

^ I got the handles to approximately parallel each time with my left, and nearly closed it with my right, both attempts.

- After the gripper work, I did some hand extensions with my Expand-Your-Hand bands.

Thanks, mate. If all goes according to plan when I compete on December 10th, I will make an elite total (1300 @ 165). These are my intended third attempts: 450-265-585. That could change before the meet. Also, the squat PR is less than the other two lifts, only 5lbs, because I'm not as sure in regards to my 1RM progress compared to the bench and dead.
