With my arms being so long, if I don't go as wide as I can my shoulders hurt. I bring it in slightly when at a meet so I don't get red lighted for putting my fingers next to the weights, ie not on the knurling part of the bar. That's an 8' squat bar too. I can't get my hands in close enough to squat with a bar like we bench with.

It's not powerlifting but I do think this is one reason why I've taken to squatting, and it's another thing I love to do and is kind of part of my training in the winter so I'm posting it here. I hope somebody enjoys it.

Today was my 35th day skiing this season. Usually I ski between 50 and 75 days a year.

Max Effort bench sessions while being pretty taxed from skiing hard the day before, so I basically didn't push it too hard. I'm going to have to cut back on the skiing as I get closer to the meet.

It seems that lately every heavy squat night, I've been putting on my titan suit and going as heavy as possible. Right now I don't think that's the thing to do since the skiing has been so good, so I only worked up to 505. Not sure what happened to the video camera, but I missed most of my squatting. Oh well, nothing all that special anyway.

Thursday night light/speed deadlifting. I'm working on using my hips more, and keeping tighter before starting the lift, specifically in my hips. I think it's at least part of what I've been missing.
