This time around's 1RM and training max's as stated by the routine: Overhead Barbell Press: 270lb Bench Press: 415lb Dead Lift: 545lb Squat: 405lb. I'm using 405lb. for the squat because of the shoulder issue, 405lb was light for me, but shoulder can't hold much more without too much pain, I'll see as I go, likely increase to over 500# if the shoulder holds up. The other weights are also estimated and will adjust for phase II next month, I'll see this month's phase through with those estimated weights to be safe. I'll be using the BORING BUT BIG for assistance work as well. Alright off to the gym for session one of phase one, I'll edit the following post when I get back. |

Today marked my first session back on the Wendler 5/3/1. The routine went as follows:
Standing Military Press: 165x5 190x5 215x5 Assistance Work: Standing Military Press: 135x10 135x10 125x10 115x10 115x10 Cable Crunches: 100x10 100x10 100x10 100x10 100x10 45' Hyper Extensions 10xBW 10xBW 10xBW 10xBW 10xBW Good first session. Felt strong, though a bit unstable in my core, that comes with surgery and recovery I suppose... So I'll see it through for a few phases, see what happens... 5/3/1 again... Hmm, I really need to give this damn thing a try. It just seems so simple, yet with yours and BRs success I don't think I have any other choice. 5 more weeks of my current routine, then a 2 week break...then either cutting or continuing to bulk with 5/3/1....
