It didn't FEEL too bad. And it doesn't look horribly hard. However, notice my right knee. It does this weird lock/hyperextension that scared me a little during the lift lol. This was my first time lifting Sumo in a meet. I've been working Sumo for about 2-3 months -- not long at all. Hopefully by Nationals I'll really have technique dialed in, figure out what happened with that knee locking, and pull a big PB!

Currently the national record in the dead is 257.5kg. I'd love to beat that, even though the current owner of that lift will likely smoke that at Nationals (if he goes, he's one of the few Canadian lifters I don't have knowledge about lol).

I'm glad I went in for recovery work last night, as today I can barely walk from that 5x5. If I didn't do any recovery I could only imagine how shitty I'd feel.

Deads and bench tonight!

National record, obliterated it. 2:1 pass again lol. Apparently one hip is higher than the other
Stoked, my first national record and a 10kg PB. Probably left about 10-15kg on the platform here.

Thanks, Ravi. I quite enjoy it here already.

I don't know about other folks, but I love talking about lifting, watching lifting, discussing lifting, reading about lifting, etc etc. I'm extremely lucky in that my best friend is also my training partner, and a couple others I can also talk to about lifting, but other than that all my other friends don't lift. I like having a place I can come to talk about lifting!

That's great Para ... You have come to just the right place in that case. It's been almost a year since I joined this site and believe me I actually learned / watched / discussed something new very often. I'm sure you will enjoy your experience too.
