Squats to me look like your knees are hanging forward. So when you try to hit depth, you are not dropping between your legs but rather moving your chest down.

Practice squatting with a kettlebell (goblet squats) and work on hitting depth with your knees a bit more open.

Deadlifts look pretty good. My only advice is to not move your head around when pulling. You want to drive your head up. Moving it down or around will mess up your balance and form and place more strain on your lower back.

Great Workout NT! You were right about setting up on deads, thats where my legs line up too, mine maybe a 1/2-1inch outside that. I might have longer legs though. Strong work again, keep crushin the iron bud!!!

Golden critique and advice from Steve. My observation was exactly the same. Once you can get those knees to spread the floor, you should be able to make depth. Perhaps some improved flexibility will also help. (I do squat stretches before each session, and everyday while watching TV, etc) I also try to do goblet squats as often as possible, even just BW squats to help improve.

I thought I noticed you leaning to far forward (shoulders too far over bar) on the deads.

Hopefully you can fine tune things and nail that 425 next time.

This might sound dumb, but you can improve your squat really easy...get different shoes! It looks like those are running shoes which are garbage for lifting!!! I had issues with tilt and depth, and other shit too. I got some cheaper oly shoes and suddenly my form got way better and my numbers went up. Solid sole shoes are a must, or barefoot. Most people that don't want to spend 90-200+ on oly shoes get chucks.

plus, try a sightly wider stance on squats and pretend you're standing on a paper towel and trying to "spread the floor" to tear the towel in half on the down and the up...

PS - Better shoes can't hurt! The trick is, for some "better" shoes are flatter and for others "better" shoes are lifted... try the wider stance and compare to the old plate under the heels to help you figure out which one you are!
