Hell yeah I do! But I don't want to do it if I'm not physically prepared, and I don't want to get fit while losing the strength I've worked so hard for.

Wow. Glutes are screaming this morning. I've never had such centralized soreness, which is great because I've wanted to focus more on glutes, and it looks like loaded walking lunges are the way to do it. Quads are pretty fried too.
One thing I never mentioned is that I do instinctual training. I love to train and exercise, so when I get a chance to do something I'll ask myself a few questions; 1. What's sore? 2. What do I NEED to train? 3. Am I physically prepared to train that area,lift,etc.? It's not easy to find the balance I want. I have to be able to run and handle myself, I WANT to be scary strong and muscular. It's not easy to have it all, but I've been pretty successful. This will be the first time in a while that I'm going to focus on lifting and muscle development, then during my cut I'll get my cardio back up. I'm confident that this will work out well if I'm given the time to do it. Another thing to mention is my Army PT. Luckily my unit is weak when it comes to pt. We do a little stretching, then just screw around. Maybe a light run, or some sprints with a few pushups and air squats thrown in. Mostly just standing around. Because of this I don't have to worry about PT getting in the way of whatever physical goal I want to move towards.

Only 10 days. It's the shortest, and evidently the easiest of all the skill schools, airborne, sapper, etc. I mostly just want to do it because it's freaking cool, and I love a good challenge. I also don't have to travel or live in the barracks while I do it. I'd get to come home every night.

I gave in to my urge to train at least something every single day by doing some shoulder work this evening. Just some clean and presses with lighter weights from 65-85lb. After that I fried up some chicken strips and wings. My wife ate the strips and I destroyed like 24 wings. Awesome.
This week is going to be weird. My parents and sister are flying in to town, and we are staying in a bed and breakfast 30 minutes away. Just far enough away that I can't come train every day like I'd like to. I'm going to do what I have to do to keep my training up, and I'll get at least 1 good session for all 3 big lifts once while everyone is here, come hell or high water. After my family is gone hopefully I'll have all the stuff for my cycle, and it'll be time to really crank things up.

Such intense DOMs in glutes today that it hurts to sit on an unpadded surface, and thighs aren't far behind. Luckily the family is coming into town today. It's a good time to rest a couple days, then hit a good deadlift session. I think I'm going to try 385x3 for my working sets this time. It's gonna be a blast.
