DOB: December 26, 1979. Years in fitness: Started lifting in 1993 (8th Grade). Stopped in 1994 due to injury. Restarted lifting in 1996. Injury re-occurred in 1996. Stopped all fitness until 2005/2006. Fitness slowed near end of 2010 and stopped early 2011. Picked it all back up again around November 2011. Now you may ask, “Why all the stops and starts?” In relation to the early 1990s, there is a condition that any male person can have a predisposition for. I happened to be one of them. I won’t openly go into detail about this condition, but if you’d like to speak off-line about I will speak to you about it. For Men that have adolescent boys, you REALLY want to know about this condition, TRUST ME on that one. As for the slowing down and stop in 2010/2011, the Army had messed up my back and feet making lifting and cardio very painful. My journey through weight loss has had its ups and downs. I have gone from a max weight of 260, down to 186 in Basic Training, back up to 230 before deploying to Iraq. I got back down to 201 at the end of the Iraqy tour and then got out of the Army I got back up to 260 after leaving Active Duty due to the back and feet and am currently back down to about 215. I am just an average guy finding what works and what doesn’t. |

A little bit more Intro, Info and Background:
Like the previous post stated I more or less started back you in 2006-ish as I was losing weight to get in the Army. Of course while in I did the Army's way of traing and really didn't hit the weight room that much. However, in OCT 2009 (while deployed in Iraq) I needed to do something and for the first started Cycle work on a stationary bike. It was the first time trying it out and in the first month lost 4% BF. I did that 3 days a week on top of P90X. Got it to where the 1SG let me run a P90X program for those that wanted to do it since he saw my sudden results in BF% and fitness. I still didn't pass my run but that's a whole other issue withthe feet and back that I deal with on daily basis. After I got out in 2011, I got a membership a local Gold's in WV. After a few months found a time to take RPM, Cycle, & Spinning classes. My 260# was dropping again and in the course of a year got down to the 208# mark. the instructors I had talked me into becoming an instructor and in September 2012 I took the plunge and got Certified by MadDogg Athletics. I got hired at a local Gold's in MD. I am just a Sub for the instructors and have yet to run my own class. More about me as I have time....at work right now. |

Good luck reaching your goals. I went into the Army in 1991 after having build quite a bit of muscle and it set me back a few years. I know how life gets in the way.
