65 minutes Deadlift Day all lifts raw double over unless noted Training Max - 430 Warmup 135 x 5 185 (40%) x 5 215 (50%) x 5 265 (60%) x 3 Weight (Goal) Actual 325 (5) 5 365 (3) 3 410 (1x5) 1 x 0 FAIL ![]() Put on the VG's 410 x 1, 1, 1 That last one was a real grinder. Not sure what happened today, but at least it wasn't a complete loss. AMAP Front squats 145 x 10, 7, 6 +10lbs I sucked on these today. Couldn't get comfortable with the bar. Tried cross arm. Tried with straps. Ended up back with the clean grip. Maybe I just wasn't focused after the dead fail. RDL 265 x 5 x 3 +10lbs Kneeling cable crunch 200 x 12, 12, 10 +10lbs Cardio 20 minutes LISS elliptical |

DL misses (or PRs) take a lot out of you for sure...
Next time I hit a heavy DL PR or miss, my plan has always been to stop there. A heavy miss has your CNS telling your body that it's at it's limit (for the moment at least) and will naturally restrict our abilities temporarily... Point being, I'd say it's totally normal and you still did a sh!t load of work before and after!

Just a quick thought - it might be prudent to review your assistance work to see if it may be affecting your lower back recovery.
Sucks to see a mad face, but I understand how it must have affected the fronts. There is something about deadlifts isn't there? Interesting how the VG helped so much, Was your grip an issue from the start?
