First goal of 2013 is to have a total to meet Class II Raw Natural Powerlifting standards of 1,076 lbs in the 90kg weight class. Right now my actual tested maxes are:
Squat 310 Dead 410 Bench 285 Total: 1,005 I think achievable goals for the first half of 2013 would be: Squat 360 Dead 450 Bench (TNG) 315 Total 1125 That would put me at 101lbs to go to meet Class I level I also want to attend my first powerlifting meet (as a spectator) just to see what it's all about. I find it very odd that there are very few meets in the DFW area, but hopefully I will find one close enough in TX that I can get 'er done

Good goals. I think you can crush them.
We have a few members here from Texas that are also powerlifters. Hook up with Silverback. He might have some suggestions.

Definitely realistic and achievable goals Rich!! Looks like 2013 is going to be a big year for you.
I think if you find a smaller meet in Texas that you can attend, you should just go ahead and enter. A bigger meet, like the one in Vegas I was in, might be a little intimidating. I didn't find the smaller meet in Vernon intimidating at all. Usually at a first meet, if you tell them so, the judges will go a little easier on you. For example, in Vernon, I fluffed my rack command and they let it go. Stuff like that. There are many things at a meet you won't get a feel for if your just a spectator. Just 2 cents worth to think about.

Good stuff Rich! Definitely, Ltl was instrumental in helping me prepare. There is no shortage of members here willing to help.
That first meet in Vernon was one of the best days of my entire life. I owe alot to Steve for convincing me to do it. I had the same reservations as you, but none of that mattered once I got there. I swear, the Powerlifters I met both in Vernon and in Vegas, were some of the best people I have ever met period. I quite often didn't even feel I was actually competing in the sense that everyone was very respectful and willing to help me even tho I was competing against them. I think they always want everyone to be at there best. Just great group of guys and gals! Last but not least, I met the Crew at my first meet. The rest is history.
