Well. I deadlifted. This is my heaviest pull in quite some time. My body feels funky; hammies are off, lower back is still only about 95%. 225 felt heavy and I thought it was going to be a crap session. I kept moving forward, focusing on my form. 495 felt fast. 545 felt easy. 585 was easy. 635 was strong, although tentative. Another step forward. I love the deathlift. Understatement. Deadlift - 3" blocks Bar x 5 135 x 3 225 x 3 315 x 1 405 x 1 495 x 1 545 x 1 585 x 1 635 x 1

Way to push thru to the real meat and potatoes part of the session Steve. Gotta be a treat when 600 lbs feels easy at any time let alone when your not 100% Any idea when you might try for a PR again?

Friday 28th December
Front Squats, beltless, bounced 20kg x 6, 6, 6 60kg x 3 80kg x 3 100kg x 1 120kg x 1 125kg x 1 130kg/286lbs x 1 135kg x F Seated BTN Press 20kg x 3 40kg x 3 60kg x 3 72.5kg/160lbs x 3 PR! Bent Row 60kg x 5 70kg x 5 80kg x 5 92.5kg x 5 A lot of little niggles present today. My right wrist has hurt the past week, so I couldn't take my usual clean grip on the fronts. So I tried a cross-arm grip and promptly cramped something in my right shoulders. Then had a sharp, searing pain occur in my left shin as I was warming up. FML. ANYWAY, session turned out decent in the end. Got a very nice, very deep front squat. Close stance, bounced off the calves and very upright. Lovely. I just need to now, find 50kg from somewhere... |
